Direct to Netflix CGI movies.

There are at least two joint Chinese/American CGI movie projects that went directly to Netflix in the US with no theatrical release–Duck Duck Goose (which I watched a couple of months ago) and NextGen (which I watched a couple of hours ago.) Both of them have better production values and stories than your typical direct-to-video movies and could have been theatrical releases (much worse animated movies have made it to the big screen), Duck Duck Goose in the off-season and NextGen maybe even trying for being a summer blockbuster, DDG more of a kid’s movie, NG more towards a teen/adult audience. So if you haven’t seen them, you might want to give them a try, and if you have sren either of them, you can give your opinions here.
