Discrepencies in interracial dating/marriage

FTR, those are your words not mine. You seem to enjoy putting words into other people’s mouths don’t you?

This is supposedly true in China, or at least in Beijing, so I was told during a visit there. I did see many unacompanied women on the streets at night. Of course, I actually saw many PEOPLE on the streets at night. Being an MCP, I paid more attention to the females.

As to the intermarriage bit, it seems to me to be a tempest in a teapot. My take has always been that if two people are attracted to one another and wish to form a union, more power to them. As to why they are attracted to each other, I don’t care—I often don’t know why I myself am attracted to a person. It’s none of my business why others are. YMMV.

I am curious, if this is correct (more Bm/WF, WM/AF and low BF/WM, AM/WF, AM/BF), does that mean there is a larger population of single BF and AM? What effect would this have on a societal level? Or are the percentages so low as to not really mater.

KMG365, I said, “So, KMG365 would seem to imply:”

I certainly left it open that you didn’t mean to imply that. But I notice you didn’t deny that my interpretation of your thoughts was correct. To paraphrase Jesus when people said he was the son of God. "“FTR, those are your words, not mine.”

KMG365, you’ve said:

So, according to you:
A) if women in the US are less oppressed in some way, they must be more oppressed in some other way
B) Asia is perhaps 50 years behind the West in terms of male chauvinism and patriarchy.
C) the US has more serial rapist-killers than Asia

I don’t know how to interpret those three statements, which you have made, as anything other than a statement that there are more serial rapists in the US than in Asia because there is less male chauvinsm.

Suppose a glass is 3/4 full of water (patriarchy) and 1/4 full of air (serial rapists), and then you pour out some water (develop feminism).
The glass is now 1/4 full of water (patriarchy) and 3/4 full of air (serial rapists). The cause of the increase in air (serial rapists) is the pouring out of water (feminist partial suppression of patriarchy).

When you internalize and personalize the issue, then yeah, it is merely a private concern. But when trends point to highly skewed discrepencies, then it becomes important to find out why it occurs on a sociological level. It is no longer about one person’s idiosyncracies in attraction when patterns of mating reveal something far more than random pairing.

sghoul, yes, there are higher percentages of unmarried black women and asian men.
Crook’d Dope, thank you for those links. They were highly insightful.

Asians make up up 3.6% of the population according to the census. Or 1.8% (unscientific speculation) if only males. I wouldnt think that would be enough to effect anything.
