Or the don’t care option.
Gun ownership: I selected over 10, although only 6 of them are “mine”.
I have 2 9mm carry pistols from the brief time it was somewhat appropriate (not in years), 1 40 S&W that I traded for when changing gun legislation in CO made it inappropriate to keep my 9mm practice pistol (magazine over legal limit), a lever action .357 that I always wanted because lever actions are too much fun, and a Ruger Ranch Hand .556 semi auto because it’s also fun to shoot and a lot less threatening to all than an AR style rifle.
I also have the .22 Ruger 10/22 given as a gift to me by my FIL as a present, for cost effective plinking.
But, my gun safe has another 5, plus another pistol in the biometric safe that aren’t mine. They’re my FIL and he ran out of space in his house to keep all of his, so he bought us a bigger safe to store them here rather than sell them. All are various family member’s heirlooms / storied guns, so while none of them are used, they need to be kept.
Fundamentally, they are guns from my wife’s full set of grandparents, and as we are pretty much the only gun owners (target shooters almost exclusively) in the current generation, they’re all headed out way anyway from his POV.
TBF, once that generation has passed, I will almost certainly sell almost all of them (and wife concurs) but in the meantime, it’s a lot.
As for usage, again, other than the short period I carried, it’s 95% for target shooting, and 5% or so for home defense although I’ve never felt threatened enough to get them out of the biometric safe for that purpose, so not a high priority for me.
I own zero guns.
I own a .177 CO2 Glock 17 that looks and almost feels absolutely real but I don’t count that. Someone gave it to me. I’ve played around with it a few times but it mostly just sits in the box it came in.
Ditto for me too. I certainly know who Frank Sinatra is, but… I think I’ve heard the name “Ronan Farrow” before in some context?
Other than his parentage Ronan Farrow is also a well known journalist. His exposé on Harvey Weinstein in the New Yorker was a catalyst to bringing him to justice.
I mean, just look at him! Not that it’s any of my business.
Our family technically owns a gun - it’s a little .22 rifle my inlaws reluctantly bought after they found the third rattlesnake in their house. They only used it once, and they ended up cracking a window in the process. It’s still stored (unloaded and locked up) in the house that we inherited, along with all the furnishings and other items. (When my mom died, my brother and I got her house cleared out, fixed up, and sold within a month, and my brother got the estate settled within three months. Maybe my father-in-law should have named my brother as his executor.)
Ronan Farrow is the son of filmmaker Woody Allen and actress Mia Farrow, and a media personality in his own right through his journalism. However, both parents have publicly questioned whether Frank Sinatra might be the father, and there have been many articles written and much speculation on the subject. I think Ronan Farrow looks a lot like Sinatra.
Who are those people?
Ronan Farrow and Frank Sinatra.
This last poll has me stumped. The human body is simultaneously tougher and more fragile than you would think. It all depends on circumstances.
Agreed; the answer I want to give to that poll is “Yes.”
I own a shotgun, but the reason wasn’t offered. The last time I used it was to kill a rabid fox in our yard.
I co-own 2 guns because we inherited them. Neither of us have ever fired them. So, I chose for historical purposes.
Thirded.
And I’m not touching that Hera/Athena/Aphrodite poll!
We all know what happened last time!
I watch a lot of WWII movies so I’d probably mix up the old and current phonetic alphabets a lot. I would definitely end with “zebra” which I know is not correct.
I can recite the NATO phonetic alphabet, but, until today, could not correctly spell it. I’ve learnt that A and J are intentionally misspelled as “Alfa” (instead of Alpha) and “Juliett” (instead of Juliet).
I got at least 20 of the letters.
I know the first few NATO letters.
Let’s see…Alpha, Bravo, Chuck-E-Cheese, Deuteronomy, Elephantitis
I get lost after those.
mmm
