Discussion thread for the "Polls only" thread (Part 1)

Combined that is Quiche Lorraine. Yum. Ice cream for afters.

On the meat poll, I went with eggs, bacon, and sausage because crabs, scallops, and mussels are missing from the menu. But I’m very picky about all three items so unless eggs are fresh, the bacon thick cut and meaty, and the sausage is from Tollafson’s I’m unlikely to be interested.

Eggs, bacon and sausage without the spam? Bleah!

 I get all the salt I need from the bacon.

Ick. Might as well eat ham.

Bloody vikings.

Pork shoulder.

Even if I weren’t a vegetarian, I may be allergic to shellfish, so I’m skipping the gourmet lunch. For the genie one, I’m going for the cheese, bacon, pie, and ice cream, and I’ll give one of you guys my bacon. Spam, spam, spam, egg, and spam’s not got much spam in it, so I’ll take that.

(That’s actually something my family will say to me sotto voce if there’s nothing vegetarian on a menu. Or, if I’m offered just bread, “It’s full of bunly goodness.”)

Henry IV?

Tough to answer the cafeteria question. My last workplace was a zoo (literally!).
I could buy a “fully prepared meal” at the same places where any zoo visitor could also do so.
So… kinda?

@eschereal: is “the Cat” some specific character? Or is it just “cats are more beautiful than anybody on these lists”?

– my work is at home and does not involve any potential workplace I could go into (unless farmers’ markets count.) So I don’t think I’m eligible to vote in that poll.

Ok the record one just reminds me of an unpleasant memory, because my answer should be “Yes.”

When I was a teen my (now deceased) uncle gave me a bunch of his old records. At the time I didn’t know many of the bands, but I do recall at least Yes and Fleetwood Mac.

My mother flipped through them and said, “Oh, I appreciate these far more than you ever could,” and took them for herself.

Not the worst thing she ever did to me but I’m still mad about it.

I meant to leave it ambiguous, but I was thinking of the character from Red Dwarf.

The Cat

I own first printings (American) of The Game and Night at the Opera.

Who also spent many years as a police sergeant on Sainte Marie.

Did he finally get that promotion?

I think he did. I didn’t faithfully watch all the later seasons.

Pretty. But not that pretty.

Almost any feline beats just about any human, IMO; but if the one Maus posted was the one you were thinking of, then I’ll keep not voting.

I’ve driven a golf cart, but not while playing golf.

Same. In Key West during a flooding downpour.
