You must be looking at a different version of Wikipedia than I am. That doesn’t appear on my Wikipedia.

Interesting. The app-based and web-based entries are identical except for that sub-header.

Neato! Thanks!

I can tell. Miracle Whip is sweet and much less oily. Mayo is salty and much more oily.

I used to greatly prefer MW to mayo, but MW has gotten too sweet for me recently. Now I use a sort of half and half.

My mayo of choice now is McCormick mayonesa with lime

I chose “Olmec” because Lisa Simpson told me to.

Also: grilled cheese is better than BLT. Grilled cheese and tomato is, however, the Devil’s Sandwich. Because the tomato remains at scalding temperature, insulated by the cheese, for much longer than expected and lies in wait to flash-fry the skin off the roof of your mouth.

But I digress.

I first heard of Duke’s Mayonnaise here, then saw it at Giant Eagle and have been buying it ever since. But my favorite mayonnaise is the emulsion I prepare in my kitchen.

Since we’re discussing polls, I have to say that there is an art to constructing an effective and informative poll. If, say, twenty-five percent or more of the people are choosing “some other reason”, then the poll choices are lacking in range and effectiveness.

I know the options for Tom Hanks movies were limited to 20, but Elvis had a pretty impressive performance by him.

I hear you, brother (?). Keep in there. The Weight will eventually lift. If it gets too heavy, talk to your doctor. That’s what they’re there for.

Oh, you can tell. MW tastes like Pure Evil.

Mmmm… homemade mayo.

That was the movie I had just seen him in. Definitely one of his best performances.

Hope you’re feeling better today, carnut!

Would that work as well with Miracle Whip, do y’think? I far prefer MW to mayo - it’s what I was raised with, and even now mayo usually tastes too bitter to me.

Sandwiches: I like both grilled cheese (preferably with bacon added) and BLTs (preferably with a slice of avocado added.

Xmas shopping: I don’t. But I remember one year when my ex had her Xmas shopping and all of the presents wrapped in July.

Winter holidays: None of the above. The only good thing about them is that eggnog, fruitcake and lebkuchen, which for some reason are not available year-round, are in the stores.

Central American civilisations: Olmec, because (as far as I know) we know the least about them.

Tom Hanks: I picked The Green Mile, because that’s the only one of those I’ve seen.

Rich relatives: Depends on who the relative was.

If you keep the temp low enough, it ought to work. MW has HFCS in it, so too high a heat and the sugars will burn.

I smear a light coating of mayonnaise on tilapia filets, then rub some panko crumbs on them. Then air fry. Delicious!

But the question was “which one is hardest to spell?” Or wait, there wasn’t a question. So, impossible to choose. I chose randomly for that reason.

Yes. Yes it does.

No. No, it doesn’t (and thanks, silenus).

I picked the Aztecs because Aztec, by Gary Jennings, is one of my favorite historic novels. A big, gripping, well-researched exploration of Aztec society just before, during and after the Spanish show up.

Agree. I read that while on a Mexico City vacation. Perfect choice.

No, I’ve tried it. It developed a sharp, sour flavor that was not pleasant. Plus the burn factor. I use butter.

Also good to know. Thanks, carnut.

As to “Gloria” - Dave Barry once, when Bruce Springsteen unexpectedly joined his amateur band on stage to play with them, asked if The Boss could play “Gloria.” Springsteen looked at him funny and said yeah, he thought he could. Barry headsmacked himself and later wrote, “If you threw a guitar down a long flight of stairs, it would play ‘Gloria’ as it fell."
