My (minor) issue with ‘salty’ snacks is that there’s a default assumption of two sorts of snacks, salty and sweet. There are rarely other savory snacks that don’t have a default salty label. So my favorite ‘savory’ snack is homemade green chili jerky (pretty salty, but not the dominant element). I also love me some wasabi peas on occasion (salty enough to be fair in the salty category). But I still voted my favorite traditional ‘salty’ snack as popcorn. Because it’s frikkin’ popcorn.
Wait, what? I’m not even sure what you mean? Are you a US citizen living abroad or something? What am I missing?
My US residents only please was to skirt someone from say Botswana from choosing “I didn’t qualify”, where I wanted votes from people who could qualify but missed the income window, not people who could never under any circumstances get US covid stimulus.
My wife and I received some amount of money from some COVID-related stimulus program or programs, but hell if I could tell you which one(s).
If you know when the checks arrived, you know which program.
I know for sure it was somewhere between 2019 and 2023.
My salty snack other is pistachios.
mmm
Trader Joe’s used to have something that I think they called YinYang. It was a wasabi peas and honey roasted peanut mixture. Divine!
I like a lot of salty snacks nearly equally, but I voted for the two that are like crack for me. I can not resist them.
I haven’t seen any of those movies/TV shows in the Duels polls.
ETA: I received no money for COVID assistance. My income was just too high. But I’m not bummed. I’m very happy my income was adequate (more than!) to ride out the pandemic.
I prefer the Billy Batson Captain Marvel, but the Shazam! movie was just okay.
I hadn’t seen any of the head-to-head competitors in the recent polls.
Well, that’s helpful.
I skipped answering. I’ve started skipping polls that don’t interest me. Sorry.
Salty snacks. Well I like most of them but popcorn is my go to, followed by potato chips because of sale prices. But White Cheddar Cheetos are pretty awesome too. And Gardettos Garlic Rye bread chips. And sometimes Fritos…
I think it is inexplicable that we could chose only two salty crunchy snacks.
Yep, gotta agree with you there. I own the Shazam! movie because it’s one of the better live action DC movies, but I prefer either Billy from the comics or Billy from Young Justice.
I do not disagree with you, but my mother’s cousin ran the one side of the family tree back to the late 18th century, one of my n-Grandmothers was named Mayalisa, and I thought, damn, that is an aweome sounding name.
We didn’t qualify for any of the Covid payments, but our business did get a loan, which was a godsend and meant that we were able to carry even the employees who weren’t able to do their work from home without any interruption in paychecks.
Yes, I am a US citizen who lives outside of the US. And due to the fun of paying taxes both where I live and in the US, my perceived US income means that my husband and I received all the checks.
Regarding the salty snacks, I consider soft pretzels and pretzel sticks to be two separate categories. Soft pretzels call for mustard, and are much better warm.
And I consider corn chips to be Fritos, which I do not like but I guess they also cover tortilla chips, which I always have in house.
Both of my parents did the spit test. Me doing a test is a bit redundant. I look very much like someone combined my mom and dad, so I doubt there’s any surprise there.
My dad has some non-white (East Asian), but he never told his mom - she would have been horrified. Partially as it doesn’t match up with the previous 5 generations of ancestors.
Which is why I don’t like geneology. It’s based on marriage certificates. Considering how many people have affairs or will do anything to get pregnant, there’s the potential for a lot of wrong information.
One of my Scottish ancestors was named Beatrix Elphinstone.
Some of the dire conditions those women are suffering from one would legally be forbidden to treat.
Apply to work at a clinic just over the border? I bet they’re also eager to hire more help.
I’m not certain, but I’m guessing Kobayashi is the champion hot dog eater. I guess I could Google it, but I don’t feel like it.
I eat faster some times than others.
If I’m eating with other people, it’s also going to make a difference how much I’m talking, which believe it or not can be pretty variable.
