The first Google hit was this thread:
I remember radio ads with that phrase for monster truck and car-racing events in the Pittsburgh area in the mid-Seventies, IIRC.
Ugh, I screwed up my sandwich poll and only let you choose 2 of each multichoice option. Too late to edit! Mods?
I couldn’t answer @ParallelLines’s poll, because I’m planning to wear a mask when I’m out in public all this flu season regardless of anyone I know who is positive.
BHA I see. Or at least that’s what I intended to be the ‘other’ category. And I respect your answer fully!
No biggie. I just want to participate in all the polls!
So I never voted for this one, because I needed clarity. First, do I get to choose which of the positive effects prior to taking the pill? Because some of them have a much higher value to me than others, and if it’s a random ‘positive’ mental effect, the overall value drops. Especially because depending on which one, it could be considered a detriment. For example, greatly improved happiness could lead to a very lotus-eater like experience, which might be great for me, but not so much for those who depend on me.
Secondly, if you get the secondary effect, do you get the benefit AND the detrimental side effect, or just the negative side effect.
Lastly, if you get the negative result (in either of the two scenarios above) is it treatable, if no more so than the same IRL psychoses are?
Because I’d vote yes for if it’s the positive result of your choice with some hesitation, but the answers to the second and third question would vastly change the degree of hesitation. And if it isn’t the power of choice, I’d probably vote no, although again, the answer to the other two could make a difference.
Oops, wrong thread.
Yes, polls can only be edited for 5 minutes. (And your can do it yourself then.)
You can also delete one and start over. You lose the votes, of course.
The bread i have is a baguette. I picked “French roll” as closest.
You didn’t leave options for “none of the above”. If i made a sandwich right now, it would have turkey, lettuce, and cranberry sauce. Nothing mayo-like, no cheese.
Yeah, I’m planning on wearing a mask most of the winter. But i picked one of the two “I’ll wear one for the next two weeks” options. I forget which, as both reasons are valid.
Well, I won’t answer a poll unless the answer is exactly right. Harrumph!
What, no challah? No “no meat, thanks”?
I was thinking, no naan?
Back when I was in high school, I went to the L.A. Farmer’s Market (the old one on Fairfax and (Third ?)) with a friend, and her mom asked her to pick up a challah at the bakery. When she asked for it, the clerk looked at her like she had three heads. The other clerk said “That’s what they call it” as she pointed out the bread. I remember it clearly as yesterday. And this is in what was one of the most densely Jewish areas in the city!
Wow. What did the bakery call it? “Egg bread”? “Yellow bread”? “Jewish bread”?
I can’t remember. I don’t think I even knew at the time. I was in mild shock and just wanted to get away. My friend was really embarrassed. I’m not Jewish, and I call it challah.
Ah. That explains why I was allowed to pick up to a dozen meat options on one sandwich (way too many) but only two vegetable toppings (not enough!)
Ditto. At least, indoors in public places. – did pick BHA.
I was thinking, no whole wheat? and I picked multigrain, but it isn’t the sort of multigrain you’re probably thinking of. It’s my homemade, which is mostly whole wheat, some unbleached white wheat, and some of either cornmeal or rye thrown in to improve the flavor.
Grocery store multigrains almost always have flax in them. Flax is a laxative. Let me just say that my particular digestive system does not require a laxative.

Mea culpa, I did try to put in many options (including BHA), and the option did specify two weeks or MORE, but I didn’t include one for continuing existing protection. I feel bad. Shame, shame is heaped upon me!
Maybe you didn’t make the proper, guttural, back-of-the-throat CH-sound for the first syllable.
For clarification, what I meant in that poll was that you get all the positive benefits. Better intelligence, wisdom, happiness, clarity, love, stress-release - all of it.
