And meanwhile I’m surprised “Bite my shiny metal ass” only got just a little over 50% in my poll. I thought that was the easiest one (It’s Bender from Futurama). I was expecting “Did I do that?” to be higher, too (Steve Urkel, Family Matters), but I guess I’m one of the few young enough to have watched sitcoms targeted at tweens in the early 90s.
Maybe you could also post the shows for your poll. I recognized a lot of them as catchphrases but couldn’t always tell where they came from.
Sure:
“Ay caramba!” - Bart Simpson, The Simpsons
“Bazinga!” - Sheldon Cooper, The Big Bang Theory
“Bite my shiny metal ass!” - Bender, Futurama
“Book 'em, Danno!”- Steve McGarrett, Hawaii Five-O
“Danger, Will Robinson” - Robot, Lost In Space
“Did I do that?” - Steve Urkel, Family Matters
“Dy-no-mite!” - J.J. Evans, Good Times
“Hey hey hey!” - Dwayne Nelson, What’s Happening!!
“Homey don’t play that!” - Homey the Clown, In Living Color
“I know nothing!” - Sgt. Schultz, Hogan’s Heroes
“Kiss my grits!” - Flo, Alice
“Pow! Right in the kisser!” - Ralph Kramden, The Honeymooners
“Screw you guys, I’m going home!” - Eric Cartman, South Park
“What’choo talkin’ 'bout, Willis?” - Arnold Jackson, Diff’rent Strokes
“Wubba Lubba Dub-Dub” - Rick Sanchez, Rick and Morty
“You got it, dude!” - Michelle Tanner, Full House
I purposely included some that I knew as catchphrases, but wasn’t sure where they were from until I looked them up (There’s a list on Wikipedia, BTW). For the record I only voted for the ones I was sure of before I looked them up, though.
When I voted I hadn’t noticed that the second word was in bold. I therefore assumed that the catchphrase was from Fat Albert.
Ditto.
Make it three.
For the comedies, I may have seen all of Fawlty Towers but am not sure. As Tehani said to Elanor in The Good Place when they were watching a ficticious BBC comedy together, “It’s been on the BBC for nine years. That means there are seventeen episodes.”
Babylon 5 and Firefly I own. Three of the four Star Trek programs (less Voyager) I’ve seen all of because they were streaming on Netflix before Paramount+ got started. All the others, nope.
Same for me; I remember my parents borrowed a set of VHS tapes of the show when I was a kid, so I probably watched all the episodes, but I’m not sure.
Friends and The Office were “appointment TV” for me when they aired, so I am pretty sure I saw all of them.
I watched all of Firefly, DS9, and Voyager when they were on Netflix. Ditto for Stranger Things. Lost was appointment TV for me, and in the early days of streaming when networks made shows available on their websites for free I would watch it that way if I missed an episode. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen all of TNG, since I watched all of the later seasons when they originally aired as a kid, and a ton of reruns of the early seasons, but it’s possible there’s an episode or two I missed.
Tritto.
Maybe I’m the only one, but “hey hey hey” brought “What’s Happening!!” immediately to my mind.
I didn’t make the Fat Albert connection until reading this thread.
mmm
I should have included both “Hey hey hey!” and “Hey hey hey!” in the poll to really confuse people.
“Hey HEY hey!” vs “Heeey heeey heeeeeeey!”
I thought it was this:

It’s distinctive and it was probably said every episode by the main character. Did the Swedish Chef actually say “bork, bork, bork” that often. He is only part of the Muppet menagerie.
So did I!
Numfar 's dance is funnier.
I’m probably dating myself, but I knew most of those TV catchphrases.
I empty the dishwasher from the top down, withdrawing and pouring out any trapped water from bowls, container tops etc. so it doesn’t get wet things that are below.
The Episcopal Church’s wedding liturgy includes asking if anyone knows any reason why the couple can’t be lawfully married. Similar to Loach’s link, there’s an old story of a prankster who ran into a wedding ceremony at that moment, shouted “Wait!,” then looked around, said, “Ooops, sorry, wrong church!” and ran out again.
I’m downtown for my job, sometimes lunch and even less frequent shopping. I have little reason to go downtown on weekends.
All in all I like traveling, but can get impatient with delays, bungling by airlines, missed connections, etc. I hope to travel more if and when I retire.
I’ve seen every episode of Firefly (that wasn’t hard, there are so damn few!), and ST:TOS through ST:VGR. I am woefully behind on my ST viewing otherwise. I also saw every episode of the original BSG when it first aired, and The X-Files, too. Big fan, back in the day.
Eggs is eggs, just as pigs is pigs.
I prefer that we discuss in advance what the ‘go’ signal is. I don’t care which one we decide on, but I want to know that we’re all using the same one.
3 is to get ready, 4 is to go (but you don’t say “4”, you say GO! or some other word).
Rockets don’t launch on one!
None of the hair-in-food options apply to me, and there is no “other”, so no vote from me.
I found a hair in my restaurant food only once, and I was sufficiently disgusted to skip that meal entirely. I declined all offers for a replacement meal. I do not, however, think that the health department should have been notified.
