“Hey, callin’ it your job, old hoss, sure don’t make it right.”
All of my immediate family (parents, sister, wife) are, like me, bleeding-heart liberals, who have all made it clear who they’ve voted for.
Same for my wife’s family. On my side, I don’t know a lot about my cousins, aunts and uncles, etc., except for knowing that one cousin (with whom I was very close friends when we were kids) is now a fervent MAGAt.
Poll for Americans:
(X) Other (abroad)
I’m in the PA county with the FUBAR voting machines. Thanks to their not working, our polling hours have been extended until 10 p.m.
As for me, I was Voter #23 at the local VFD this morning at 7:15. There were no lines but there was a soup and hoagie sale in the next room.
I am one county over and saw that your county had some issues. I went to my local polling place at 7:45 AM and I was #49!
Which Democrats are more responsible for Trump’s victory?
NONE OF THEM.
Trump won because a depressingly large number of people thought fascism sounded neat.
If Man Utd beat Tottenham you can say that the Spurs defender who gave away a soft penalty is more responsible than the midfielder who had a pretty good game. The Man Utd players are obviously more responsible as they were actively trying to win, asking about that is a pointless tautology.
Trump’s enemies desperately wanted me to fear him.
Yet, in their fanaticism, they made themselves look a lot scarier than they made him look.
That goes both ways. One Trump commercial breathlessly warned me that “dangerously liberal” Kamala was giving out free transgender surgeries to criminal illegal aliens!!!
I wish I was making that up.
Not really. trump won as memories get dim. People mostly remember the good stuff not the bad stuff, and they thought- somehow- that Inflation was Bidens fault and the trump could fix it.
Inflation lost the election.
And give them Social Security also!
Not just free, mandatory!
Shoot. The Harris campaign should have one-upped that to say they were “forcing” transgender surgeries to criminal illegal aliens. They wuold have garnered a lot more votes!
I would never order salmon at a restaurant. I frakking hate salmon no matter how it’s prepared.
I like salmon at restaurants. The good places get it just right. I’m often (but not always) asked if I’m okay with it being prepared “rare.” I am.
I have a friend who’s very particular about how she likes her fish cooked. And she wants it cooked to a point at which I think it’s seriously underdone.
She comes to visit, occasionally, for a week at a time; we generally have fish at least once. The solution to this problem turned out to be quite simple: she takes her fish out of the pan when she thinks it’s done. I leave my share in longer.
I love seared Ahi tuna which is essentially a crust with a mostly very rare interior. There’s a restaurant near us that makes it with Yuzo multiseed crust, and it’s so yummy.
I’ve been served overdone (for me) salmon in restaurants, and I’ve asked to have them give me a new one. Overdone salmon is like sawdust for me.
I like salmon cooked perfectly, but that’s slightly rare.
I grew up fishing. When we went trout fishing , my Dad cooked them then and there. When we went deep sea fishing, we almost always ate them very fresh. So, I no longer like much cooked fish, except for Fish & Chips style.
I do eat sushi.
I am the canary in the coal mine when it comes to raw fish or seared ahi. The consequences can put an end to a lovely meal.
