Not really. Lipton is just nasty. Although Constant Comment is pretty low quality too and yet I strangely like it.
I’m more a Twinings guy - English Breakfast or Assam. Sadly they have stopped offering their rather nice Lapsang Souchong (something about supply issues). I also drink “chai” (yes, I know it just means “tea” but you know what I mean). Sometimes I even make my own from scratch.
Trophies: I currently have custody of a bunch of Academic Decathlon medals I won 30 years ago which I figured qualified. But only because I got back from a trip to visit my folks and they gave me a box of stuff from my old room to take away. And I’m not allowed to say “Junk it” per my wife. So I shoved it in the basement. Otherwise, no.
Tea: I have a LOT of teas of various quality in the house that I drink on. From cheap-as-hell store brands that I normally use for bulking up ice-tea (for half-caff) to the Harney and Sons I special order. A quick count shows 10 different teas from at least 4 providers.
I find that even for most quality providers, their decaf leaves something to be desired compared to full strength versions, and of course, iced tea does better than hot with lower quality ingredients as the cold mitigates taste.
Trump: I’m trying to post less on that because it just makes me insane, let’s just say that I’m reasonably certain that Trump 2.0 will either fatally wound democracy in the US (after doing major previous damage) or lead us deeper into a luke-warm Civil War. Either way, no, long term, I think the damage is unrecoverable for the “more perfect union” of the Preamble.
Yeah, not my first choice, but my wife got me a large box of Lipton lemon black tea at the bargain bin, and I am saving it if/when i run out of my favorite Celestial Seasonings
No, for wargames- My Dad and I got one huge one for winning a 1200 scale naval tournament, another for some Avalon Hill games, etc.
I had a couple of minor sports trophies from my youth. I left the military with a chest full of medals that make me look like a hero until I tell you what they were for.
I always think I should drink more hot tea (less caffeine than coffee and less calories than cocoa), so I’ll buy some, and it sits in the cupboard until it goes stale. I’ll want a hot drink, and I think “Do I want a cup of tea? Nah.” So it sits there until I toss it out.
I drink iced tea (lots of lemon; no sugar) because it’s a no-cal cold beverage but only when I’m in a restaurant. At home I drink more cold beverages than hot. Even then I usually just drink ice water.
I can’t remember exactly when I last received a phone book. I stopped getting yellow pages at least 6 years ago maybe 8-10 and I haven’t seen a standard phone book since well before that probably at least 15 years.
I think it’s been at least five years for us – but I actually opted out of them. After getting two or three on the porch one day (which went directly into the recycling bin), my stepsister-in-law told me about a website where you could opt out of receiving them. After doing so, I haven’t received another one since.
At this point, I kind of wish I still got yellow pages. The online sources are getting more and more useless from ads. "Before we show you what you want, here’s 15 ads for companies that are vaguely similar
