I had a childhood with very little TV in it.That didn’t feel like deprivation, either at the time or since. I had books and fields and ponds and cats and dogs and sometimes horses.
I had all of that. And I had TV.
I haven’t seen any of those Christmas specials, but i voted for Charlie Brown
because i like the music.
Agreed.
I said “bah humbug,” but I forgot about the music. I actually bought a Vince Guaraldi CD years ago because I loved the music so much. The one I have has the Charlie Brown stuff on it, but other pieces, too, so it’s not overly Christmassy.
Good ones.
Yep, I certainly was.
The soundtrack from the Charlie Brown Christmas special is just about the only Christmas music I actually like.
Linus and Lucy is a great song and probably the best music from any of the listed specials, but it’s not really a Christmas song. Still, it’s a big part of why I like that show. Nevertheless I had to go with Magoo because of the more interesting plot.
Approximately 10:55 in the video I posted above. Great song.
I watched all of that on TV.
mmm
I always hated the popup task bar on Windows. Annoying as hell and it’s not like it gains you screen real estate. You try to do something at the bottom of the screen and the damn thing pops up. I’d rather leave it at a fixed size.

I live on a Court, aka Cul de Sac.
Huh. I live on a -hof, which translates to Court, but I never thought of it as a cul de sac. It is a dead end, but it’s not just one simple road as it branches to the left and right, and then branches again. So there are 4 ends from where the road starts.
And I live in a -burg.
Regarding crockery, I have 3 Christmas mugs, a winter plate and a winter cup & saucer. The winter plate, cup and saucer are put on display. The mugs get used. I used to take a Christmas mug to work, but I would invariably forget to take it home before the holiday break. I would then find it again at the office, and I would have already put the holiday decorations away. So I stopped doing that.
Yesterday my husband was at an office building which had a coffee corner on an upper floor with a balcony. He took a picture of the sign on the sliding glass door, “No crockery on the balcony.” (Also in German, “Kein Geschirr auf der Terasse”.
Is coffee a theme? Seems so.

When I retired five years ago, I changed it over to a coffee theme because I had found a fabulous rug to build around. I imagine that’s the way it will stay.
Did the mall Santa thing for many years. It was even at a Frederick & Nelson department store, which was one of the anchors at my local mall.
Done the heart symbol by myself (both sincerely and ironically) and with a friend (sincerely) for photos.
No love for “The Year Without a Santa Claus”?
One of my roommates in college was obsessed with Peanuts. She even had a framed letter from Charles Schulz. I still haven’t recovered.
Task bar on the left. I use it enough that I don’t like it behing hidden because I find the extra movement to be annoying. The non-standard position of the task bar tends to stymie the IT support because they look for the start button at the bottom left, and mine’s at the top left.

“No crockery on the balcony.”
If one were unfamiliar with the term crockery one might assume they meant something like no horseplay or nor hanky-panky on the balcony.
mmm
I have a friend and neighbor who often starts phone calls like that. I generally respond by a couple of words briefly describing what I’m doing. This is sometimes, though not always, relevant to what he’s calling about.
“Tell them what I’m doing” does not appear to be one of the options.
I note that the poll specifies that I know the person on the other end. If I don’t know them – or if what I know about them indicates that I don’t want to tell them what I’m doing – I’d say something else; what else might vary, possibly ‘who wants to know?’ or ‘up to no good, how about you?’ or ‘answering the phone’ or possibly something else.
Your phone rings and it’s someone you know so you pick up the call
No, I do not answer the call. The people I know, who have my number, know I won’t answer a call but will happily reply to a text.
So, no option for me.
The only people who will call me and be recognized are generally my wife, my parents, my mother and father in law, and one or two friends.
If it’s one of them, and they say such things, they’re messing with me, or there’s normally something I’ve forgotten and need to be doing, or a minor (or not so minor) emergency, so I’ll pick up if I’m able (can’t at work or similar scenarios) with this being the closest to my intent:
Nothing, should I be doing something?
Sometimes the answer, as I mentioned above, is that yes, there IS something I should have been doing if it’s family!
The option for “hanging up” was left off of the poll.

The people I know, who have my number, know I won’t answer a call but will happily reply to a text.
How come this doesn’t work in reverse? I quite like phone calls, but I HATE texting. And yet nobody will call me, or answer my calls, but will quite happily send me texts.

The option for “hanging up” was left off of the poll.
You would hang up if a friend called you?
I will uses texting- when my wife is shopping and I remember something else that should be on the list, and stuff like that- it is perfect.
But altho I dont get many calls, if it is from a friend, i answer it. Some things can not be handled by a text.
