If co-owned spousal vehicles are included, 11. I counted my pickups because they were my only vehicle at the time and were usesd primarily for my local driving.
Ten cars. Before I actually tallied up the expensive metal that has carried me through all these years I thought I would have had more.
Some of them were real doozies and left me with untold misery. A couple left with a bang. One huffed and puffed all the way home and died with a whimper.
If co-owned spousal vehicles are included, probably around 15 (I excluded those when I voted so I picked “11”). And I’ve had a few co-owned kid’s vehicles that perhaps should be counted.
My vote reflects my rules (duh), which were motorized vehicles that were available for my exclusive daily driver use. My first vehicle was given to me by my folks, the second two were purchased by me, and the 4th (my current) is technically in my wife’s name, as it was her daily driver before we traded in my prior car when we bought her new PHEV. We’ll put it in both our names but finding time off to do so when the DMV is open has made it a low priority. FRT, I’m in my early 50s, and started driving pretty late, so I’m probably a bit of an outlier due to both of the above.
I find it mildly interesting that the average in the number rating version of the poll has been hovering just under 8, like that meme said, but so far no one has reported owning exactly 8 vehicles.
It’s a little strange that fewer people voted in the number rating poll than voted in the first poll, but if their votes were distributed roughly the same as everyone else’s it shouldn’t affect the average too much.
I know that i can look right now by clicking the results box, but it doesn’t stay clicked, and then i still have an unanswered poll when i scroll back. Which i find annoying. I want to deal with the poll and be done, and if I’m curious about the results so far, i don’t want to have to poke at it again.
Maybe this is because i use many different devices? I haven’t tested extensively. I do know that while i sometimes skip a poll i have zero interest in, in general, i find it mildly annoying to have unanswered polls cluttering my page.
I just checked; and if I refresh the page, you’re right, it defaults back to the “vote” option and if you want to see the results you need to click the results box again. So it’s probably not the number of devices as this was just refreshing the page on the same device.
I genuinely didn’t know whether some people weren’t seeing the “results” button; either because their system and/or skin weren’t showing it, or because they hadn’t noticed. I’ve had people mention things that I hadn’t noticed were there.
I actually use the “results” button a good bit - because at night, I’ll occasionally read the site from my Fire Tablet, and I don’t care for the Silk Browser’s security much, so I’m not normally signed in. Which means that since I -can’t- vote, it’s the way to see the results but I don’t have to worry about missing a cool poll because, well, it’ll still be up when I’m next there on a signed in system.
I originally put 4, as half of the vehicles “co-owned” with my spouse. After the following poll I went back and changed it to 8. 5 were in the U.S., and 3 here.
There are dozens of “English” accents. I’m assuming MMM meant Received Pronunciation AKA the BBC Accent. By the same hand there are at least four US Southern accents that I can discern (Coastal Virginia, NC Down East, Appalachian, and Deep South). I can hear three Irish accents (Cork, Dublin, and Ulster) and three Scottish (Highland, Lowland, and Glaswegian1).
There probably are many more. I am sure Oz has multiple accents, but we only ever hear the one in the US2 I’ve always been partial to the Kiwi accent, which sounds like Aussie, except they’re always asking a question.
1 - Hear, but not understand. Seriously - go to youtube and look for John Barrowman speaking Glaswegian.
2 - Not the one on the Outback commercials - God knows what that is.
I wanted to pick more than one choice for the mirrored selfie thing. I went with, “why would i want to do that?” But also, my phone doesn’t have that option, and i just checked to make sure. And if it did, i wouldn’t select it.
I know my flip phone’s got a camera, and I sometimes use it; but I have no idea whether it’s got a front-facing camera. I don’t think it does, but I’m not sure. If it does have one, I have no idea how it’s set. And I’m not likely to bother to find out.
