Toothbrushes move thru the line

  • Primary toothbrush
  • Backup toothbrush (for when primary is in travel/toiletries bag)
  • Shower (to clean the grout)
  • Bike (to clean the cassette/tough to reach places)
  • Trash

I’ve raced bikes & I’ve done charity rides, both Centuries (100 miles) & metric centuries (62mi / 100km) but I’m not sure what a marathon bike race is, unless it’s possibly a multi-day stage race??

I have a travel toothbrush that lives in my overnight kit. Every so often, i trade it out for a new toothbrush.

I also use old toothbrushes to clean sneakers and sometimes stubborn garment stains.

Regarding running a marathon, does it count if you didn’t actually run the entire distance?

Just after mile 18 I had to pee.

(really)

mmm

Ditto in my area, thus my stopping even if the filthy cheater went ahead. It’s to help prevent backups from merging traffic.

I’m sadly not going to any of the 4/19 protests. I did go 4/5, but this time, the weather is not only going to be around freezing (it was then) but it’s actively snowing this weekend. Just a bit much.

I swam with stingrays on my anniversary two years ago. I have a picture but I can’t figure out how to post it.

I had to look up metering lights; I don’t think I’ve ever had to deal with them. Voted that I’m not familiar enough with them to answer.

Will add that I was taught, many years ago, to not stop on an onramp; the idea being that having cars enter an expressway from a dead stop, instead of already partway up to speed and accelerating, caused a traffic hazard. Do expressways that use metering lights have extra long on ramps, with the light at the beginning?

Again I am not nitpicky, and today’s examples would indeed qualify.

Several potential others:

Bury them, with a ceremony about burying your original love for them.

Compost them. Use the compost to grow something.

Sell them – but then donate the money to an organization or individual to be spent on proper medical care for trans people. Drop Rowling a note or email to tell her that you did so.

I will most likely never purchase an EV. My home has no appropriate place to install a charging system and there are no convenient local options. I don’t have many years left to drive so my final new car will be an ICE vehicle.

Around here, not really. :stuck_out_tongue:

Normally metering lights are turned on only when traffic is fairly heavy and congested. So a car entering the freeway from the metering light usually doesn’t need to accelerate up to 70 mph. It just needs to merge into the slow traffic.

This is pretty much the same as I would have suggested, so kudos to thorny_locust.

For EVs, it’s missing the category of PHEVs, since it just mentions EV and “hybrid”. My wife bought our PHEV now just over 6 months ago. She loves it - but we do have the advantage of having our own home, and since the all electric range is 42 miles (more in practice though), she can still easily charge her daily use even over level 1 charging.

We won’t deny that having the luxury of another 500+ miles of gas-based range doesn’t soothe emergency/range anxieties, but she’s also a lot more comfortable with the next vehicle being all electric (once we pay for the electric work to upgrade our panel to allow a level 2 charger, which may have to wait until we replace our AC!), but we’ll still have the PHEV for those rarer long-distance trips.

I voted “electric lettuce” and the technology is cool. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t ALSO have issues, especially if your EV is manufactured by a hideous evil man-child, but I don’t have a problem with the choices made for the Toyota Rav4 Prime we bought.

I don’t own any of the HP books or the movies, but in my fantasy I’d box them up and mail them to her, along with a note condemning her for her bigotry. Make her deal with the disposal! Maybe if 1000 people did that she’d finally get a hint? (Doubtful.)

She’s a billionaire. Do you really think she’s opening all her own mail?

Cold ham, unless it’s smoky. Then no ham.

That’s why I said it was a fantasy, lol.

I couldn’t answer any of @eschereal 's poll questions. Electric lettuce? No.

I’m not really considering getting a new car of any type. I’ve had fleeting thoughts of buying an EV, but I can’t say they rose to the level of considering a purchase.

Destroying books is a worse sin that being a “TERF”.

As for EVs- if/when we get solar we’d consider a plug in EV.

Ham? On Easter or whatever day, we have hot ham, then cold hame in sandwiches, unless I make a grilled ham & cheese sandwich- lightly fry the ham, then take out of pan, add butter, then two large slices of bread- cheese on one, ham on the other. Cover- when cheese gets a little melted, put one slice atop the other, turn off heat, replace cover- wait for a couple minutes. Serve.

I don’t plan on buying any new car particularly soon, but when I do it will most likely be an EV. I counted that as “seriously considering” one.
