There are sometimes bares in there too; nice police officers will sometimes give them a pair of bracelets to help cover up & keep warm.
I started a walking program this year, and I’ve only missed one day so far. I had a bad reaction to my Covid booster, and I thought I was dying. I still felt crummy the next day, so I did a shortened route.
But we also have a centralized mail kiosk, so I need to go pick up mail at least six days a week.
My hearing isn’t horrible (I have test results to prove it) but I do have trouble when there is a lot of background noise. That’s why I avoid talking on the phone in public.
My favorite sausage is Hungarian, similar to Polish but hotter.
I love all kinds of sausage, but mostly I eat hotdogs, Italian sausage & peppers sandwiches, and pepperoni on pizza.
I like sausage, but in general, the spicier, the better; the less smoky, the better.
Brots in a bun with mustard- yeah! My pizza of choice is Italian sausage, and sometimes at home i will brown one, cover with good tomato sauce and some Italian cheese- yum!
Then if the breakfast sausage has natural casing- great!
Really tough to narrow it down to just three sausages, but I landed on brats, polish, and Italian. Ask me tomorrow and my answer may be different.
Yes. /retired counselor
I am right there with you, right down to the three choices.
mmm
Are you assuming i never catch covid from the kid? Because what i expect to happen is that i mostly stay home, and wear a mask when I really need to go out, until i have obvious covid symptoms and test positive. Which will probably take 3 days And then i continue to stay home until a day or two after i test negative.
Also, most of the symptoms of an “ordinary” case of covid are your immune response. The stuffy nose, aches, fever, tiredness… That’s mostly how your immune reaction makes you feel. Back when folks were immunologically naive, they often became infectious a day or three before they developed symptoms. Now that most of us have primed our immune system (through some combination of vaccines and infections) it’s more common to develop symptoms shortly before you become infectious. And then to stay infectious for a while after you “start to feel better”.
When the CDC standardized its advice for isolating when you have an infectious disease, they based it on the timetable of flu, probably because flu is well understood, whereas covid was still a moving target. You tend to become infectious with flu about a day before developing symptoms, and become a lot less infectious by the time your fever breaks. Folks are rarely infectious with covid before becoming symptomatic these days, but often remain infectious with covid for a few days after your fever breaks.
I hope the tariffs didn’t prevent me from importing cheap covid tests from Germany, i find them really helpful.
The snausage poll - us that meant-irrelevant? A lot of those are typically pork but can be made from other animals, which changes my answers.
We stayed at a Y once…once. Okay, the hall bathroom was hostel-like & acceptable if you think of it that way but the bunk beds, in an alcove about 1" longer than the metal frame, with the ladder on the end meant i had to stand on the desk chair, on my tiptoes (& I’m tall) & barely make it into the top bunk. I had not had anything to drink, so full motor skills & was terrified of needing to pee during the night & try to get out of that bed in the dark. I guess most of their guests are singletons because i cant imagine how many people either can’t get into the top bunk or fall getting in/out of it.
I voted for masking, but it would actually be a combination of staying away from people mostly and masking if/when I couldn’t.
I loves me some salmiak licorice! Who knew ammonium chloride salt plus licorice was so tasty!
Regular licorice is okay, but it’s the salty stuff I crave. On our recent trip to Vancouver BC, we hit the licorice shop on Granville island. Heaven on earth!!
People are fickle. The results of my poll two weeks ago were less friendly toward black licorice.
Dang, and I even voted in that one.
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.
mmm
I think the black licorice polls are improving. A poll with two options, “like it” and “love it” is not very interesting. I have no idea how many people skipped it, and i don’t care all that much to learn that the person who wrote the poll likes black licorice.
The most recent one seems excellent, with a range of reasonable options.
Due to health reasons, I have to limit my salt intake, but I really want to try this! I don’t want to buy a whole package though because I won’t be able to eat it all. I’ve loved black licorice since I was probably 5 yrs old. I still remember the wine gummies a friend brought me back from a sweets shop in Victoria. Is B.C. the candy capital of Canada?
The only sausage not on the poll that I would have selected is that Chinese sausage that is usually added to jook. I love that stuff.
I liked that it wasn’t anonymous so I could see which Dopers have good taste – you’re one, @puzzlegal !
Surely we should thank Frīġ it’s Friday (Frig - Wiktionary, the free dictionary), since that’s literally whose day it is.
