Discussion thread for the "Polls only" thread (Part 2)

You don’t have to like every flavor in a group. Those are just examples.

The ice cream poll was tough. I went with “spicy and botanical,” likely because the most recent really good one I had was cinnamon flavored (I went back for seconds the next day). But I love “beverage-inspired” ones too, like Bailey’s Irish cream or root beer. And, maple walnut. And, pistachio. And, Cherries Garcia. And…

But if some of the flavors in the group are favorites, and i won’t eat others because i dislike them, should i vote for the group?

I don’t think of chocolate as a “confection based” ice cream. It is usually made with cocoa powder (and lots of it if it’s my own concoction) which reduces the sweetness of ice cream. The other things listed in that group are like adding candy to the ice cream.

Maybe chocolate should be moved to the “spice” category.

I found it impossible to cast a reasonable vote in the ice cream poll

Several of the groupings contain my top tier favorites, which is a problem in and of itself. What’s worse, they’re lumped in with other flavors that I (in some cases, intensely) dislike.

mmm

Yeah, I didn’t vote. I like flavors in every group. I hate flavors in every group. I don’t pick food by groups.

Same with the clothes I wear. I wear a variety of colors (eliminating a few that don’t flatter my coloring), a variety of patterns and solids, a variety of fabrics from silk to denim. I defy categories!

You belong in the uncategorized category group…along with all of the other misfit toys. :face_with_peeking_eye:

I was born on the Island of Misfit Toys.

I didn’t vote. I like a lot of ice cream, gelatto, and sorbet flavors, but not from all brands or vendors.

My ice cream favorites fall into several different categories, none of them more so than the others. Didn’t vote.

The ice cream poll forces you to select a single answer, but there’s no such restriction in the clothing poll. If you commonly wear all of those patterns, you can vote for all of them.

When it comes to ice cream, I am quite promiscuous.

I voted in the clothing poll.

Me, too.

My given name is Michael, which come from Hebrew, and translates into a rhetorical question, “who is like God?”

My given name can be translated (after tracing it back to it’s German origins) as “He who rules in peace”, but in its Spanish form (“Federico”) it probably would stump any German person.

My last name is a foreign patronymic, similar to, say, Olafsson.

My name means “follower of Christ.”

Great for an atheist.

Well I’ve never ruled anything either. (unless you count Civilization, where the name would’ve been terribly incorrect in my younger years (when I won by CONQUERING EVERYBODY) but more apt now that I usually try to win by cultural or diplomatic means )
