I’ve never waved at an automatic door, but the idea of pretending I’m using the Force kind of appeals to me. Maybe I’ll start doing it.
Just in case it’s fading from your consciousness, here you go!

Also, nothing he says is ever reliable, so I can’t even justify it by saying I’m keeping informed.
I’ve often heard “slop” used to describe bad AI, but never as a pejorative toward any person or group of people.
I voted that that I don’t think such stupidity will have any measurable impact on society, and that there’s no point in trying to discourage it.
Bigots gonna bigot, after all. Better they do so in their own little echo chamber where the rest of us don’t have to hear it.
We used to do the sound effect from Airplane 2 for automatic doors. (Kinda make the door noise from Star Trek, TOS).
I didn’t know the CIC (Cheeto in charge) was speaking tomorrow night before the poll. I try to avoid any political speech but doubly so for him - I’m a balloonist; I’m used to being around tens of thousands of cubic feet of hot air; don’t need any more if we’re not flying TYVM!
What 4chan meme are we debating, now?
Also when stopped by police I imagine you do the whole “You don’t need to see my driver’s license” thing…
Has not yet worked. I keep trying. ![]()
“They are pretending to use The Force to open the doors” and “They are weird” are the same answer ![]()

As hashed out in this thread, button 2 is the only rational choice, button 1 is unforced suicide.
It will be interesting to compare the results of the two button poll to the similar one I asked over a year ago.
You missed the third option: my working memory is too poor to figure this out.
I’d be terrible at Taskmaster for this reason.
If I press button 2, there is 0% chance that I will die. My fate is in my own hands; everyone’s fate is in their own hands. Why shouldn’t we all choose to live?
Which is “#1? Blue or red?
I just dont push.
“Something else” which I dislike: people who feel that a thing is completely innocuous, but are so flabbergasted that someone else might have a problem with that thing that their only way to attempt to understand that reaction is to tell the other person that they must be deranged, broken, delusional, or just plain wrong.
I eat dinner in the dining room about 20% of the time, but I eat breakfast (and lunch, when I’m home) there about 80% of the time, so it depends on what is meant by “dine.” I went with “regularly,” because “occasionally” isn’t quite right.
I very mildly dislike “have a blessed day” (I’ve heard it said to me maybe twice in my long life), but I don’t dislike the other options, hence “something else.” (And yes, I know this is designed to be a “gotcha.” Not gonna get into it – I think we get it.)
The way it’s phrased in the poll this would be functionally identical to pressing button 2. You’re still counted as “one of the people” and refusing to press doesn’t increase the number of button 1 presses towards the 50% mark.
I voted special occasions but I also use the room for quite a lot of other stuff.
Whether I dislike blessed day or Merry Christmas depends on the context and the tone of voice. Whether I dislike Christmas music depends on the particular music and the sound system and how often I’ve heard that piece over and over and over. I don’t dislike Christmas itself; but I dislike the fact that it’s become ubiquitous in the USA for now two or more months a year, and I dislike the fact that some people assume everyone celebrates it and that some people think everyone should celebrate it. Voted other.
I’m not getting into the whole save yourself by risking everybody else debate again. I did that on these boards once already.
I like sacred Christmas music and earlier, non-pop seasonal music (e.g., The Holly and the Ivy, Lula Lulay, The Boar’s Head, etc.).
I don’t have seating in the kitchen or a nook. If not the dining room, I’d be balancing a plate on my lap, which I don’t enjoy, so dining room it is.
I’d rather read any speech by anyone, president or not, unless they’re known for excellent delivery.
I haven’t watched a presidential speech in at least 3 decades.
I am not thrilled about “blessed day”, but I don’t hate it.
There is a dinner table taking up space in the largest room in my house, but I am not sure “dining room” is the correct name for that room. I usually use it for other things.
