I am certain that the reasons (certified mileage) for window stickers play a big role in the US as well. Not to mention, cost savings. Heck, we live in a day and age where fundamental features of your car are being sold back to you as live services to make the car an ongoing revenue stream. No spare is at least arguable.

I had a thread a while back on my specific issues with not having a spare, but I don’t expect them to apply to others. If you’re always within a urban or suburban area with services, you have a lot of options. And saving at the pump is more important than ever in terms of everyday expenses. I just wish they were a LOT more careful about explaining the consequences of the fix-a-flat option.
