Discussion thread for the "Polls only" thread (Part 3)

Funny!

I usually shut my bedroom door to keep out the 3 cats, last night one snuck in unnoticed and stayed quiet all night. He never yowled or scratched at the door to freedom but in the morning there was a wet spot he left in front of my closet :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

AC is kept at 78f, so I’d turn it down to cool off.

I have no time to make coffee before work, sometimes I treat myself to Tim Hortons drive thru for coffee. I’m tempted to buy instant coffee for home

I sleep long and well without aids

Separate beds always, and away from the wall.

Why away from the wall?

It’s a cleanliness thing, ( blood boogers bugs mildew) probably not an issue in most reputable hotel chains but the ick factor remains in my mind.

This is what I do, but it’s not common where I live. Weird, but I was just talking about Jimmies vs. Sprinkles just a couple of days ago.

And I don’t like either of them on my ice cream. I like a good butterscotch or hot fudge sauce; nuts, fruit (bananas, raspberries, or strawberries), whipped cream.

My sister’s best friend in high school worked at the local Winchell’s. They put the day-old doughnuts into a big cardboard box and used them to make the crumble on the spice doughnuts. That box often also housed cockroaches. I never ate a spice doughnut again even though I love them.

Yeah, I only use self-checkout if I have a small number of items. As mentioned, it’s a real mess with a lot of items.

Our store’s self check-out has an option to indicate a quantity for a specific item.

There is something about a purring cat that is sooo relaxing.

Sometimes I “turn up the air conditioner”.
Sometimes I “turn down the thermostat”.

I just want to point out that including both “American Motors” and “AMC” in the car poll is redundant. AMC stands for “American Motors Corporation” and is the exact same thing as American Motors.

Since the poll included “borrowed” in the question, I counted my dad’s Acura Legend and mom’s Voyager, both of which I drove reasonably regularly as a teenager. In fact the Legend was the car I learned to drive on and took my driver’s test in. Once I got my license they bought me an '88 Buick that was “my” car, even though they legally owned it. The cars I actually personally owned were a Saturn, Toyota, and Mazda.

My school’s driver’s ed car was an Oldsmobile, but I’m putting that in the “short term” category which doesn’t count.

That’s exactly what I was going to say! When traveling, I sleep on whatever side is closest to the bathroom.

Forgot my parents’ Mazda.

Besides VW, Pontiac, Saturn, Toyota, and Subaru, I also had two Seats. (Say-oughts, not seats)

Brands I’ve owned: Chevrolet, Chrysler, Ford, Hyundai, Mazda, Plymouth, Subaru.

Brands my parents owned, and which I drove regularly: Cadillac (the car in which I learned to drive), Chevrolet, Ford, Jeep, Mercury, Plymouth.

Brands which were owned by the university department where I worked in college, and which I drove a lot: AMC, Renault (I forgot that one, and the poll won’t let me edit my response).

Actually, my being farther away from the door usually means my husband being closer to the bathroom, which is a win for him.

I picked five makes of car, and all five were in the second poll…

I would not have guessed Logan’s Run would be the most-seen movie from 1976.

I recall the audience being given gem stickers to put in our palms before the film.

My somethings not listed in the first poll were all in the second.

I interpreted “something not listed” to mean not listed in either poll.

I did the first before reading the second.

I didn’t bother to go back and change my vote.

I’m not certain which of those i saw. I made my best guess.

(I didn’t see Logan’s Run, though.)
