My enthusiasm for using a long-distance communication requiring a whole shitload of off-site technology and going through third parties unknown to me in order to turn on a light is, I’ll just say, definitely negative.

I understand what you’re saying, but I like the ability to be 400 miles away and turn the driveway lights on for my kid who’s coming to let the dog out.
