Disk catalog software needed

I’ve been looking for a good (and not heavy) software to catalog discs, or folders, or files, the problem is I don’t know how to look for it in download sites.

What I need is a software that scans a cd or folders inside a folder (any location), and presents me some kind of grid where I can put a thumbnail, a note, a rating, and any kind of categories I like (of course, not too much to be presented in columns) to all results that it found. Later I may sort rows by any category or any way I want.

That may help me to catalog my collection of software or music or anything in CDs, to browse titles or cd folders offline, without having to explore the cds one by one. What I’m thinking of is a graphical method of rows and columns, not the usual tree/explorer view, that is very used by many programs.

Some suggestion?

Anyone? (second and last try).

(I attempted to reply to this last night, but the board seemed to go on the fritz just as I sent my response. I’ll try again.)

I’ve been using WhereIsIt v 2.11 for the last year and it’s great!
It does everything that you’re looking for and more. It’s shareware, and you can find it on Cnet:

There are also other progs (some of them are FREE) listed under:

Downloads > Windows > Utilities > File & Disk Management

Good luck!

Thanks, I’ll try it.
