Pretty easy round to judge, really. No tight competitions in my book, with only Lion King up against Snow White being even close.
[del]1. Cinderella[/del]
17. The Emperor’s New Groove
Weak, annoying protagonist up against the funniest and best pure comedy Disney has produced, which happens to be one of my personal favorites. No contest despite some good songs in Cinderella.
[del]25. 101 Dalmatians[/del]
9. Lilo and Stitch
Lilo and Stitch is just plain fun to watch repeatedly, while Dalmatians is only pretty good and gets old quickly.
4. Sleeping Beauty
[del]13. Dumbo[/del]
No contest. Sleeping Beauty is simply beautiful, amazing just to watch. It is my favorite classic.
5. The Little Mermaid
[del]21. The Jungle Book[/del]
What can I say? I have a redhead fetish. Plus the music is second to none.
2. Beauty and the Beast
[del]18. Robin Hood[/del]
As much as I like Robin Hood and watch it often, Beauty and the Beast is a pinnacle achievement. I watch it just as much. If you have the DVD with the “Work in Progress” version, watch it. Glenn Keans is simply amazing. (and more great music)
26. Fantasia
[del]10. Pinocchio[/del]
Like I said, it’s pure art. Plus my favorite villain, Chernabog, is from Fantasia.
3. Aladdin
[del]19. Peter Pan[/del]
Rewatching Peter Pan on the recent DVD release, I decided I didn’t like it all that much. Put it up against Aladdin, it has no chance. When I heard people say Aladdin was better than Beauty, I couldn’t believe them, but when I saw it I was truly amazed. However, Beauty is still better in my book by a score of 99 to 98.
6. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
[del]11. The Lion King[/del]
Even with Rowan Atkinson, I never much liked Lion King. Snow White still holds up after all these years. It’s truly a great film.
