I am usually just a casual observer in these forums…
by Grant St. in Gary!!! Them’s my stomping grounds. Well actually my parents. I was born 2 towns over, now I am in San Jose, CA. 2200 miles.
Wow, what diversity. It’s cool to see where everybody is or has been. For the longest time I lived relatively close to home. Born in Buffalo but actually spent most of my life in Maine. For the longest time I hadn’t even been south of Boston or west of Buffalo. I always got so jealous of people who had traveled extensively.
I got the idea for this thread in a roundabout way. There was a HS reunion thread, and I got to think of the reunion I attended a few years ago. We had this little contest - who came from farthest away to attend. My best friend had traveled from SF. Another friend of mine traveled from Germany. I traveled 300 miles. I felt like such a slug.
Anyway, I need to crow for two reasons.
1 - This is my first two page thread. My little baby is all grown up. {sniff}
2 - I just surpassed 400 posts. I know, I know - post parties suck, and I’m not trying to hijack my own thread, but I just felt the need to say … Woohoo!

I never win anything. 
I was born in Oslo, Norway. I now live in Kansas City. That’s 4409 miles. Okay, I lied. I was born in Overland Park. I moved to Omaha, and back to KC. I live like 20 miles from where I was born. My life is so boring.
