Distance From Birth

It’s six months till my birthday, so the Earth is now on the opposite side of the sun from my birthplace, which makes me two astronomic units (2 x 92,955,808 miles) or almost 186 million miles from my birthplace.

Russell

Born on Canada’s West Coast and now live in the Southern Interior of BC. That’s about 450 kilometers.

I’ll convert that for anyone who doesn’t know…thats about 16 degrees C.

Thank you…thank you very much.

Me: Galveston to Austin, about 210 miles.

FWIW, my youngest sleeps 24 feet from where he was born, but the bedroom’s in the corner of the house.

According to Mapquest, I’m about 1785 miles (driving) from where I was born in Lebanon, IN.

From Mesquite, Texas to Fort Worth, Texas - about 45 miles.

I can’t find anything closer than Perth. I tried the Australia tourist site and it only shows like four cities in the entire Western territory. Could I get brownie points for “place of birth hardest to find on a map” ?

Distance between Escondido, California, United States and Santa Rosa, California, United States, as the crow flies:
484 miles
Not even in the running…

Born in York Beach, Maine and now live in Lakeland, Florida: 1,221 miles

Well, how far is it from Earth to Aldaran?

Born in Riga, Latvia. Live near Boston, MA.

Distance: 4,025 miles. Good enough for third?

Bonus points for everyone who has actually heard of Latvia.

I was born at the old University Hospital in Madison, WI and live 10 miles from there now, but I work about 2 blocks away. I walk by it on occasion, but the building isn’t used as a hospital anymore. I’ve lived in Illinois, Tennessee and Missouri though so I haven’t always been this close.

Outrider, if you still speak Latvian, we can have private conversations. Yes, my parents were born there (father lives there now) and I know a ton of Latvians in Boston. Ask Matiss and Nida about Mel. That’s me.

I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and now live in Brooklyn, NY - about 600 miles.

I was born in Flushing Hospital in Queens, NY. Now I live in Manhattan (Chelsea). That’s 8 miles. I’m 12 miles from Bellerose, Queens, where I grew up. I guess I’m not winning any awards.

Gardner, MA. to Brighton, MA. 56.9 Miles

Born Highland Park, MI now reside Oakland, Ca distance 2403 miles, driving time 39hrs.

It’s part of the female anatomy. Right?

Born in Redwood City, reside in San Francisco.

I may be reading too much into the responses so far, but it looks like people born in the Bay Area tend to stay here…

Alameda, CA (Also Kaiser Permanente) to Thousand Oaks, CA. I’m not sure of the exact distance, but it’s a six hour drive.

And I want to go back! I miss the Bay Area, but school is here, and friends are here…family is here. Sigh.

Okay, fine, as the CROW flies I’m 2500-odd miles away. I refuse to believe it’s that few on actual roads or without wings.

BTW, latvian person, there used to be a priest in my church who left to be bishop of Latvia. Ooh - another “famous” person I know!

I was born in Frankfurt, Germany and grew up in Liberal, KS, a distance of 5064 miles. I’ve since moved a little closer to my birthplace. I’m in Hutchinson KS - 4904 miles.
