Do any dopers know their Meyers-Briggs personality type?

INFP

Well, that’s three of us (here, at least). I get this no matter which test I take, so I guess it must fit me pretty well. Me, you YNG, TroubleAgain, Shakespeare, Mary Mother of God, Mia Farrow and Calvin of Calvin and Hobbes (according to one of the flakier sites).

Well, there are other tests for that. That’s not what the MBTI intends to characterize. For your purposes (more or less), you’d want an MMPI or an MCMI. The MBTI is not intended as a measure of pathology. It’s intended as a strength-based characterization of style preferences.

It may seem obvious that if you endorse “feeling” items you’ll come up “F.” But many people are quite oblivious to their preferences and presentation of self, so the MBTI can be a great tool for resolving workplace or interpersonal conflict.

I didn’t post my type earlier. I am an ENFJ.

Actually, Jonothan Chance, this book I was reading last night, People Types and Tiger Stripes, does actually go over the negative aspects of each type and where they are likely to run into potholes.

I also learned that it is not supposed to be a personality type but rather a psychological type (my mistake :stuck_out_tongue: ), and it stressed that personality traits are a lot different than the personality ‘types’ that Jung came up with.

Good stuff, to be honest

ENTP. We rawk.

One more ENTP!

ISTJ here. Lsura, we may be the only ones!!!

ISTJ- they got me nailed pretty well.

Desert Wife and I took the Keirsey sorter test years back. I was INFP, she ESTJ – total opposites. We loved each other anyway. Perhaps it was her strengths butressing my weaknesses and vice versa.
