Do any intelligent conservatives still take Fox News seriously?

So European countries don’t have a universal health care system? Okay.

Regards,
Shodan

I honestly did not get that impression. Directly after cutting from the video of Obama, Goler states:

To me, that’s saying that universal health care and government health care are not one and the same. That there is more than one way to provide health care for the masses.

Parse it as you like, but I seriously did not get the impression you fear. ::shrug::

Dio, I think that Shodan partly answered your question. We can clearly see what sorts of people take Fox News seriously.

To give Shodan some credit, at least he’s thoughful about his idiocy. Many Americans will drink the Koolaid without giving it a second thought.

I take back my “thoughful” comment.

Ok, Surreal POSTER of the Day. Happy now?

You can’t honestly be this dense.

All universal health care doesn’t have to mean European style. After reading the question, Obama said that while he IS in favor of unversal health care, he is NOT in favor of doing it EUROPEAN style, ok? The terms are not synonomous. “European style” is a subset of “universal.” It’s not the only one.

Yes, he can.

Pepperoni pizza is a type of pizza. This does not mean all pizzas are pepperoni pizzas.
The European model of universal health care is a type of universal health care. This does not mean all universal health care follows the European model.

I hope I helped clear up the confusion for you.

I accurately gleaned what was being communicated by the video, and you find that troublesome.

Okaaaaay…

That doesn’t look to me like he was advocating a European system at all. Instead, it looks more like “keep what we have but make it work better”.

You just know he’s not going to get this, an is going to go off on a tangent now about Pizza. I hope you’re happy.

Nothing’s troublesome. Quite the contrary. This is all hilarious, just another amusing day in Republicanville.

YOU accurately gleaned what was being communicated by the video (because, I assume, you’re psychic and knew that the words right before that were “Now, the question is…”), but the fact that FOX deliberately tried to mislead its viewers (the ones who aren’t quite as on the ball as yourself) is all hunky dory I guess.

Are you seriously suggesting that pizza is not European?

Here’s what happens at Shodan’s house:

Shodan: Should we get a pizza, like pepperoni?

Shodan’s friend: “Should we get a pizza, like pepperoni?” Well, I like pizza, but I don’t think we should get pepperoni. I do want a pizza.

(Shodan orders a pepperoni pizza.)

Shodan’s friend: I told you I don’t want pepperoni pizza!

Shodan: You said you wanted a pizza, like pepperoni. Don’t you get it?

Shodan’s friend: Well, I’m outta here. Bye!

Shodan::confused:

:smack: Duh, scratch that. I just re-read your post. You were with the OP until you viewed the video, then you understood that President Obama was reading a question, after you had already read the OP. You weren’t psychic, you were informed.

Unlike the people watching FOX for anything other than laughs, who were led to believe that President Obama did say he did want a universal health care system like the European countries.

Sorry Shodan. Upon reflection, it’s a tie.

You know those wind-up toys that walk in a straight line? If you wind it up and let it walk across the room, it will eventually just keep walking into the wall.

While it’s doing that, it’s not bothering anyone. Well, except for the annoying, high-pitched whirring sound.

“a universal healthcare system like the European countries…is…intelligent… Sure.”

Shodan said it himself! There you have it, folks.

Hooray for Shodan for seeing the light!!

"Now, the question is, if you’re going to make a pizza, isn’t it going to be European?

Well, some people might like that, but some people like their pizza just the way it is."

Yes, I’m sure a lot of Europeans like Pizza. The point is, what effect will pizza loving Europeans have on our healthcare? And did Obama go back on his Pizza promise?
