Do gay gals especially hate Anne Heche?

Isn’t Anne Heche just an extreme example of “Lesbian Until Graduation”? Someone who wanted to be daring and edgy but wound up making commitments along the way she had no intention of keeping? That’s my take.

Thank you eats_crayons - that’s the sort of answer I was hoping to give to my friends - their point is the same one you mention - that she is not helping open mindedness by seeming so experimetal about the whole thing.

Thanks everyone for their responses.

But what’s wrong with being experimental? I’ve never understood why it’s okay to experiment with drugs but not okay to exdperiment with sexuality. How are you going to learn what works for you? Sure, it’s tidier, and perhaps less painful, if people only stick to what they’re sure of, but I’d hate to have the sexual identity police castigating me for trying something new.

Sometimes sexual experimentation masquerades as marital experimentation. Then people get hurt.

If a sexual encounter is an experiment, everyone involved should know up front.

I just saw “Bowfinger” (Steve Martin’s send-up on Hollywood) and in it there is a lithe, wannabe starlet with no talent who will sleep with anybody if she thinks it will get her somewhere. Word is, Martin crafted her character after Heche.

Now, now, everyone knows that your sexual orientation is irretrievably set in stone from the moment of conception, if not before.
