Okay, indulge me. I’m not normally into those Hollywood who’s dating who type stories, but this one intrigues me.
I was checking out some pictures of the Golden Globes online last night. I saw a shot of the 2 aforementioned ladies on the red carpet holding hands. What’s the deal? Are they an item? Was it just a chance encounter that got caught on film? In all the blather on the event there was no mention of the two as an item or otherwise. I don’t know why, but I absolutely NEED to know what’s going on here…
I wondered the same thing, and put the question to my friend in the entertainment biz. Her answer was not only that they were together because Heche is doing a gig on Ally McBeal, but Jane Krakowski was also with them, only not shown in the infamous photo.
My friend assures me that we red-blooded straight guys can retain our fantasies about Lucy Liu (and Jane Krakowski for that matter) and continue to be confused about Anne Heche.
Thanks for the tip. Haven’t watched Ally in a while, so I didn’t know that Anne Heche was doing a stint on it.
As for Lucy Liu, I’m a straight gal, but if I weren’t…she’d be up there on the top of my list. So I wouldn’t have blamed Anne if she was hooking up with her.
I believe my mother heard that people are suggesting that Heche was only dating Ellen to further her career or something. If that IS true, it’d be a pretty shitty thing to do.

On the other hand, of course, no one in Hollywood has ever engaged in a heterosexual affair in order to further their career. Those people are far too sincere and pure-hearted for that.
According to a story I read, Anne Heche was dating the comedian Steve Martin shortly before she hooked up with Ellen. In Martin’s movie “Bowfinger,” there is a character (played by Heather Graham) who will sleep with anyone to advance her acting career. By the end of the movie, she has resorted to sleeping with a female film executive.
Although Martin has denied it, many people have speculated the character played by Graham was based on Heche.
