Where in the hell did you get the idea that a mentally retarded person’s pubes would not be curly? It’s not part of any folklore I know.

I wonder if it(the myth) is anything to do with the fact that people with Downs’ Syndrome usually have very straight hair.

What folklore? It’s a medical fact: one of the hallmarks of Down’s Syndrome is straight, coarse hair.

What the OP wants to know is whether this extends to pubic hair, or if it’s just the hair on the head.

What I want to know is whether any of the smartasses who have posted in this thread actually has any notion of the answer. Hmmm?

Well, as one who has helped my daughter with her menses, I can attest that people with Down Syndrome, anyway, do not have straight pubic hair.

And inre that link from GorillaMan, some of the characteristics listed do not manifest themselves in everyone with DS. Kinda weird that it’s not mentioned.
