Just wondering, in light of Pablo O’Malley’s recent banning (thank you for that). Do these people ever respond with threatening or abusive correspondence? Or isn’t there a mechanism for them to do so?
Once in a while we get nasty or just plain crazy messages through the webmaster email or our own moderating email addresses, yes.
All I got were marriage offers and extremely indecent proposals involving kangaroo leather and extra virgin olive oil.

Cecil sometimes receives snarky mail. Much of it is without merit (person didn’t read the column/person misunderstood the column). Some are complaints about perceived political bias (to read the letters, Cecil is apparently simultaneously both to the left of Lenin and to the right of Ronald Reagan).
My shrink just adjusted my meds, so that should be stopping soon. Apologies and such.
I email Idle Thoughts every single day to tell him I hate him. He knows why. :mad:
They get constant emails calling the desirability of their weight and penis size into question.
And some of them aren’t even from MOIDALIZE!

I do remember one incident way back when I was a moderator when someone tried to send an e-mail virus to all of the moderators. I can’t remember the cause and effect between that and the banning, though.

Huh. The ones I get involve Olive Oyl in leather and extra virgin kangaroos.
That was in my “Welcome to the SDMB” letter.

Those would be the ones where even the pouch is still sealed shut, right?
Not a fair litmus test. Sometimes the kangaroo goes horseback riding and the pouch just breaks open.
