Sometimes, as I’m driving and thinking about a subject, I suddenly become aware of the lyrics to the song that’s playing on the radio, and in a strange sort of way, the lyrics apply to the thoughts I was having (even though I started having the thoughts before the song started).

The most recent example was a few days ago when I was driving past a cemetery and I started thinking along the lines of:
“I wonder what the f*ck happens when we die?”

At that moment, I noticed that “Baker Street” was on the radio and it just got to the point where it started saying:
“And when you wake up it’s a new morning
The sun is shining it’s a new morning
And you’re going, you’re going home”

And that got me thinking about how interesting it would be to interpret those words in the context of the question “What happens when we die?”

Anyway, some Mundane Pointless Stuff I thought I’d share.

Does anyone else have these sort of interesting coincidences with song lyrics?

I notice a similar phenomenon in that sometimes while I’m listening to a song and the singer sings an uncommon word (eg: testimony) and simultaneously I read that word on a billboard or on the side of a building or truck.

I guess this is close, but not quite the same thing.

I’m a bit surprised that I’m the only one it happens to (or I’m the only one that notices). Usually, when something strange happens to you, you think that you’re the only one who experiences such things, only to find out later that nearly everybody goes through the same thing.

Oh well.
