Do we need to do Spring Cleaning in the MMP?

Clarification (must start getting more sleep): I’m not too worried about side effects, since I can claim paid time off if needed. BTW, they say I’ll be getting Moderna.

Minor mystery of my life: why does taking a multi-vitamin on an empty stomach produce serious nausea?

Not sure but it does the same thing to me. If yours has iron in it, that is often a cause, as can be the sheer amount and density of concentrated chemicals being dumped into your tummy.

I finally quit trying to do a daily vitamin because it was such a pain to remember to take it but only after a full meal, not just with coffee and toast in the morning. If my doctor told me I had to I would figure out a way.

I try to do mine (the over-50 woman formula) in the evening, after dinner (or whatever that day’s semblance of turns out to be). I did accidentally grab it out of the pill-holder Wednesday morning (meant to grab the Claritin and echinacea, got the Claritin and vitamin by mistake), wound up calling out because I was so sure I was going to barf on the bus. Hadn’t felt great to begin with, the pill mistake tipped the scale to “stay home”. I now own a pill-holder with two compartments per day, AM and PM, to help prevent a repeat performance.

Odd thing to be wondering about: which arm to get stabbed tomorrow? I’m right-handed, but tend to sleep on my left side.

If it was me, I’d get poked on the side opposite of the one you hope to sleep on. Wishing you my luck: both Pfizer jabs I could tell which arm it was in but I had to push really hard to get all the way to sore.

Hmph. Now have chills. I’m telling myself this means I have the immune system of a twenty-year old. SO much better than having Covid. I know 3people who died from it, and a fourth who’s on a ventilator and not expected to live. I’ll take a day or two of this any day…

There’s a protest going on in the street by my complex. Not sure what for. Sounds like they’re chanting

Who wants a banana?
Old Saint Nick!

silenus … I feel that way about the whole month of February (we have issues with each other) … if nothing bad happens in February I consider it a success …let alone anything good happening

Glad rox had a happy bday… a lot of mines were meh …and yes my fav color is orange lol

yeah I’m waiting a bit myself

ordered dinner from del taco… made a mistake and forgot i ordered carne asada fries with the combo and ordered honey bbq fries … ah well better than my last delivery from them in which the only thing they made right was the drinks …

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to dump. And it’s 2 weeks past Dose #2, so Happy Immunity Day to me.

I’d say right side then. It helps to move the arm, and rolling over onto the injection site can wake you.

Good choice.

And it’s more difficult to have

Happy Immunity Day!

It’s a wopping 2 C outside. Was going to start the spring moss cleaning on the north patio, but not sure I want to play with water too much.

Probably have to talk to the neighbors now that their gardener is gone, to see what’s going to happen with the gap at the bottom of the fence. It’s probably too big for their dog, and they want to be able to let him out and run free. Of course there’s lots of tempting fresh topsoil at the moment, so they might not want him running loose yet.

Friday’s lunch was somewhat disappointing. We ordered steaks from the online grocer. I think they cut them wrong, or they weren’t the cut we expected. We really had problems cutting them with a knife, even though they tasted okay. Won’t order from them again.

Already have dinner sorted (ordered delivery), and lunch will be cheese and crackers, if we decide we’re hungry between a late breakfast.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 57 Amurrkin out and rainy with a predicted high of 75 and possibly rainy for the day. Fine with us as we have nowhere we either need or want to be outside da cave. I have a thawed out poke tenderloin to get into some marinade for tomorrow’s late N.O.L./early sup. Need to yank a couple steaks outta da freezer to thaw so they can get marinated as Moanday nite is men’s night over to the church house. Tonight’s sup shall be chikin nachos. Other than all that, the only other item on my agenda is to call sis to get the latest scoop on the doin’s in Ye Olde Home Towne.

Yay for all the first and second jabs. Happy immunity day doggio!

shades we use to have Del Taco around these parts but they pretty much disappeared sometime in the nineties. AIR they have (had) a pretty good chimichanga.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

This cracked me up!!! There needs to be a national movement to have surreal demonstrations, just because.

Woke stupid early and couldn’t fall back to sleep. It’s gonna be a physical day - I need to empty Roxy’s room of most stuff, including disassembling and reassembling the futon (getting the mattress down the stairs will be interesting…) and I need to replace the Muppet curtains with something more appropriate to an office. I think I have some sheers in a closet somewhere. If not, I can buy some cheap curtains somewhere, I’m sure.

I may also start bringing stuff from FCD’s shop in here so he can set up the new office. It’ll definitely be safer for him to work in here while recovering - the bathroom is right across the hall rather than across the yard. I just hope it’ll work out well wirelessly - I don’t want to be drilling holes in the floor to run a network cable from one end of the house to the other.

And I’ll need to figure out where all of Roxy’s stuff will go in the guest room. It’s not a lot, but I want a few toys up here so she can play when I have chores to do. She’s still too young to be left alone in the basement. Anyway, there’s space in the closet and in the dresser for toys and spare clothes. I’d like to put the play desk in the room with my desk, but there’s not really a good spot for it. It may be consigned to the basement.

So that will be my day, once we decide to get in gear. FCD won’t be able to do a whole lot until his stuff starts coming in here. No way he can carry anything. But once I make space, he may be able to put away and organize things as I bring them to the house. We shall see.

Oh, and I ordered a cool walker - it’s got a seat, and it can also be configured like a wheel chair if needed. It’s got 8" wheels and hand brakes and I can see it getting use well into the future. It’ll be delivered on Weds. So there’s that.

Meanwhile, onward! Happy Saturday!

I slept in, oh BOY did I sleep in!

If I manage to get a lower leg wax today, I’ll consider that an enormous triumph. For now, I’m enjoying watching my kitties enjoying the sunshine, and basking in the glow of a clean home.

Oh, yeah, I did wanna make chicken soup … but that would create tons of cleanup. And I don’t wanna gunk up my nice, clean space!

Well, that was fun. FCD decided the yard needed to be mowed. He rode John Deere (with some issues, but he got it done) and I pushed the Toro. Glad it’s done - the back yard was getting out of control - I guess the fertilizer I put down really did the job!

After I chill a bit, I’ll start moving stuff out of Roxy’s room. It’ll be easy till I have to move the futon mattress - FCD can’t help so it’ll all be on me. Woohoo!!

I slept in again which is unusual. I didn’t take my drive yesterday; instead, I went to my favorite nursery and looked at ALL the plants, trees, and shrubs. It was too crowded for my liking, but I was masked up and so was everyone else.

I was a little disappointed that they didn’t have what I was looking for, but I still managed to spend a ridiculous amount of money on plants and flowers. I saw an interesting dwarf shrub that I very much wanted to buy, but I restrained myself.

I came home and put together my Gorilla Wagon (it’s a wagon AND tips like a wheelbarrow). It can hold 1200 pounds. It’s one heck of a workhorse! After that, I placed the plants I bought and will probably plant them today. I weeded another garden and started pulling the sod up against one side of the house. I’m going to turn that back into a flower/slash plant bed and lay pavers next to that because grass just doesn’t grow really well there. After that, I went back to work on trying to remove a maple tree stump and roots. I had a little (well pretty much medium-sized at the base) tree that came up right next to the house and it was alongside a portion of the house that we just never really pay attention to because it’s a really small tight area to work in. Nothing grows there because we have weed cloth and bark down. Once I noticed it, it had gotten thick and large. I cut it down with a saw last year and went to work trying to remove the roots and the stump. I never finished. It’s in a very small, tight area and it’s just really difficult to get in there and swing at stuff with large tools. Yesterday, I made more progress digging around it and cutting through some more roots. Jaysus, it was exhausting.

Today is car washing today. I also get my first jab this afternoon and will stop at Lowes or Home Depot to pick up some garden edging and bagged mulch/bark for the small flower beds I’m working on. I plan to have bark brought in for the rest of the gardens but want to wait until I’ve finished weeding them because I need to be able to pull in and out of my driveway and having a pile of bark there will definitely impede my ability to do that.

I have one of these and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! Didn’t even have to assemble it because it was the last one they had - the display model! Half the load capacity of yours, but it suits me well.

metal mouse, the neighbor dog that I call Scooby Doo (his name is actually Rocky) is a buff colored pit bull - great Dane mix. He’s a gentle giant, mellow, well mannered and sweet as can be. It’s my little Scrappy Doo that is the issue. He looks at Rocky as a challenge.

I hope your side effects go away quickly nellie.

Mooooooooom, I used to have a poster of the Count from Sesame Street hanging above my desk when I was a parts room clerk. :stuck_out_tongue: Since I counted and kept track of the maintenance parts room, one of my guys brought it in for me. As for more professional curtains, check the thrift store. They tend not to be very spendy and usually only need laundered and pressed.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, a load of towels ready for the dryer and a load of jeans ready to go in the wash before KP. Not a lot on the agenda this weekend except doing some online research for a new mattress. I’m debating getting an adjustable base, but need to see if the price difference is worth the convenience. If I go with a traditional flat mattress, I still have the chair back type pillow for sitting up in bed reading.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Y’all are having busy days and getting stuff done. I want one of those! Rough night with fever, chills, body aches, headache, coughing, etc., so I didn’t sleep much, and I’m still feeling ugh. Don’t most people say the icky part lasts less than 24 hours? In the meantime, I’ll lie here watching the changing light outdoors and listening to the birds.

Thank you!

Way-ull… I suppose I should start cooking breakfast. We’re out of russet potatoes, so I’ll try making hashbrowns out of red potatoes.

Already had a busy day. I was up and out of the house by quarter to 8, headed into town to do some irk. I just installed an outdoor sign with raised letters, and I was not feeling great about the letters really being stuck on well enough, even though I used a ton of construction adhesive. It was keeping me up at night. So I went and put some screws to have a physical fastener helping. A touch of paint and no one will even know that I was there.

Then to the booze store, and to the dog food store. I patched a ding in the drywall that’s been bugging me for about 6 months. I was done with all that by 9:30. And I’ve got a replacement front door for my house waiting for me to paint and install it.

But I don’t wanna do that.
