Home from work, laundry is done. Naptime!
I haven’t done a thing other than cruise the net looking at real estate and read the news.
FCM, this is the one I got: Gorilla Wagon. I put it to good use yesterday.
I’m sorry you’re still feeling poorly, nellie. I hope you feel better soonest.
I am really hoping I feel little to no ill effects after my jab. I have no idea which vaccine I’ll receive; it’s all dependent upon what they have.
Yeah, no. Apparently that ain’t happening today. After calling a bunch of places, one harried-sounding clerk mentioned that tonight is Prom Night and they are booked solid GOOD DAY MADAM.
Well. Okay, then. It’s either the DIY route, or continue my Sasquatch impression until whenever I have off work again.
Guess I’ll be wearing jeans for a while longer.
ETA: I haz a sad. Really was looking forward to getting purtified by an expert today. I just wanna feel pretty, dammit!
I first read that as putrified. ![]()
In local news…
The last homicide within the city limits of Blaine was 39 years ago, when a mother and her child died by arson in their mobile home… Prior to the 1982 case, the last homicide in Blaine occurred in 1978 when a man traveling through Blaine decapitated his wife at a motel.
Decapitation back in 1978. We may not have many murders, but we’ve had a gruesome one! I imagine the hotel maid saying, ‘I’m not cleaning that up!’
Taking a break from reassembling the futon in the basement because my bread needs to go into a pan to rise in about 8 minutes. I used regular flour instead of bread flour and so far, it looks like it didn’t rise nearly as much. So, worst case, it’ll be heavier than other loaves I’ve made. We shall see in about an hour.
It’s clouded over - I don’t think it’s supposed to rain, but if it does, at least we’ve mowed!
Got a grocery, TJ’s, and Home Depot run in. Picked up breakfast on the way home, then planted Lion’s Tail, Gentian Sage, some stevia and a cherry tomato. And it isn’t even noon yet! Now to follow Willie’s advice for the rest of the day.
Electric Horseman - Wendall:
“I’m gonna get me a bottle of tequila and find me one of them Keno girls that can suck the chrome off a trailer hitch and just kinda kick back.”
Except sadly without the keno girl. Or the tequila. But definitely some other stuff Willie would approve of.
The futon is assembled in the basement, Roxy’s former room is now ready to become an office, and the bread is in the oven. It actually rose quite a bit - it was hard to tell when it was in the machine.
FCD just went to take a nap. I need to go get milk - after the bread comes out of the oven. And apart from pushing the vacuum around the new office, I think I’m done for today.
I read it as “purified” and was rather intrigued.
DH went back to bed after morning erranding. I’m still awaiting a grocery delivery between 2 and 3pm, then I go get stabbed at 4pm. Sloth (and a couple of loads of laundry) will be the majority of the rest of the weekend.
Hey there, Miss Owl! Where ya been hiding?? How are the kittehs doing?
Afternoon all. PIctures have been taken and one game played (girls won 6-2, their fifth straight win) and one to go (45 miles away at 5pm). Also refereed one game and will definitely sleep well tonight. Dished washed while I was out, so that job is done.
Have read all but absorbed little, will try to do better tomorrow.
I just realized that this month makes 40 years since I quit smoking. Best thing I ever did for myself.
Had a wellness visit with my doc yesterday. He pronounced me healthy-ish. Still have this nagging back pain, so he took some blood and urine to find out if it’s something serious or not. If not, then it’s off to the physiatrist shop so they can figure it out.
Picked up our tomato starts yesterday, even though the soil is still too cold to plant them. But if you don’t grab them when you see them, they tend to run out. Portland is all about home gardens. Also got some herbs to restock the deck boxes.
I’m also making a fresh batch of brioche buns today to replenish our stock. Dang, but those things are good, and they freeze without suffering any adverse effects that I can ascertain. The dough is rising in the proofer as I write.
Back from a run to the dollar store for milk, because it’s half as far as Food Lion and I only needed milk. They didn’t have non-fat, but I got 1%, which is pretty close. I mostly use it for cooking anyway.
Now, what to do about supper??
Sunflower and I go to the mall not far from our house to walk in inclement weather. They open the doors an hour before the stores open for the walkers. We walked our usual hour or so and then went on about our Saturday. An hour later there was an argument between two people, apparently over the newly released athletic shoes. One of them fired four shots at the other. Two people injured and the shooter and accomplice got away.
A couple of weeks ago, a man was caught on camera in JC Penney putting a package of T shirts in his back pack. Store security picked him up and called police. The policeman was in the security office to investigate the incident. The shoplifter had his hand in his jacket pocket. The officer demanded that he remove his hand. The guy came up with a gun and fired four shots. The officer was wounded in the face and head, but has since recovered. That shooter was apprehended about twenty five miles out of town and is in custody.
life is getting complicated
let us know who wins …
Wow longhair …sounds like everywheres becoming a 'hood now …
Consensus among people I talk to is that everyone’s losing their damn minds in the last year or so.
oh wow so you’ll be really busy next year eh ?
Ya think?? I’m exhausted already!
