Do you enjoy being home?

I would probably make a good agoraphobic.

Seriously, wide, open spaces make me dizzy, and I am absolutely the only person I know who likes enclosed spaces. I like MRI machines. I love sleeping on trains.

I talked my husband into taking the smaller bedroom and building a loft that takes up half the room. We gained so much storage space, and I love sleeping on it. He does too, now, because he’s 6’2 and can stretch out all he wants. But I love it because it’s a tight little nook.

I used to love to be out and about, and I loved traveling, but in the last few years I’m much happier at home. I have a comfy place to sit, a ridiculously comfortable bed, I like the food we cook at home, and I like using my own bathroom. Like others have said, travel is okay for a while, but mostly I want to get home and be in my own space with my honey.

I love my home. The physical location where I’m at has been my home since 1957; where I came to after being born. I’ve lived in lots of other houses but eventually inherited Stately Mercotan Manor in 1995 (too soon!!)

I may leave it one day, it’s too damn big (too many rooms on 60 acres for just me and the Mrs.) but for now it’s good. And after? If the Mrs. is there with me, that’ll be home then too.

I spend a lot of time here but I can’t say that I really prefer being here over all else.

I work from home so I’m home all damn day and often on the weekends.

I like to be in hotels and restaurants. I like to be in places where I don’t have to clean up or mow the lawn or find something to eat or take care of dogs.

I’m sure I’d be the total opposite if I was never here, I’d relish coming back to my house every day after work or after a week of business travel.

I honestly cannot see myself being in a hospital and thinking “I just want to go home!” When I think about it now, all I can see is being in a place where someone is taking care of me, bringing me food and maybe someone is back at my house cleaning up haha
