I appreciate you taking the time to clarify for me. You’d think that I’d have been here long enough to know this stuff. I have to admit that this wasn’t my own definition of ‘trolling’, but it makes sense. Sorry I was an ass about all this…I guess the back and forth comments there about mothers and such just hit me wrong.
I didn’t want to look like an idiot reporting the posts if it wasn’t trolling (which it appears it wasn’t in fact), so I asked the question. It really wasn’t supposed to be a coy way of calling someone a troll in a backhanded fashion, but a real question (I don’t actually hang out here in the Pit very often). When asked directly I by Red I gave my honest opinion…to me it DID seem to be trolling, or at least beyond the pale.
In any case, I’ve hijacked this thread enough with my inane questions. I apologize for breaking the rule and will note it for future reference. Consider me spanked.
I never said anything like “they should be nice to her”. I just think someone is fundamentally ill in the head if they have to issue threats of physical harm on a minor.
xtisme, we’re cool. Note that I wasn’t Warning you in my first message, and really should have done the clarification thing in the first pass instead of just a drive-by admonishment. I think the trolling rules are at least somewhat confusing to a lot of people, so we’ll tend to cut you some slack if you are honestly just trying to puzzle out the rules. (Although as a general rule these types of discussions really should be in their own thread.)
Definitely don’t hesitate to report posts – even if a post is deemed to be within the rules, we always appreciate having potential problems brought to our attention.
Actually,I’m not sure that her age is entirely the issue here.
In my book, people that express the semtiment that someone should be raped or executed for their political beliefs is one sick mo-fo.
