I doubt it. He’d’ve had to type magellan’s name manually since his post also contained quotes from xtisme, and the software isn’t set up for easy multi-source quoting. Dropping the “01” is reasonable enough, and changing “a” to “e” is just a typo.

I was a bit terse in my first reponse – I’ll clarify. Trolling as we define it is a pattern of behavior, not a singular act. Consistently taking up false positions to try to piss people off is trolling. Consistently hijacking threads in order to bait people is trolling. Getting mad and saying rude things to someone in the Pit is not trolling. Making a silly, over-the-top argument which provoke hostility in others is not trolling.
We don’t want to intercede in arguments between posters, especially in the Pit. That would make for a shitty message board. If someone is being an asshole or saying stupid things, crush them with brilliant insights and caustic mockery. Attention-seeking trolls, on the other hand, crave the mockery and attention so we would rather you informed us when you suspected someone of posting only to cause problems. Any attention-seeking/inflammatory behavior which you believe should result in moderator action should be handled via email/reported posts, not in-thread accusations. So, by definition, if you believe someone is breaking the “no trolling” rule, you should not say so in the thread.
Yeh, I know. But given the derivation of the word, and its comparatively recent coinage, it drives me mildly berserk to see it spelled with that extraneous C, not least because I suspect the extra letter crept in there through the misspellings of those unable to distinguish the two words.
