Do you get Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood mixed up?

For awhile I thought Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood were the same person. :wink:

I had to look this up, just to get it right.
Kelly Clarkson American Idol Season 1 winner born April, 1982.

Carrie Underwood American Idol Season 4 winner, born March 1983.

Both blonde, ***slim, similar ages, rose to fame the same way and I only occasionally hear them on the radio. Even their names, Carrie and Kelly are oddly similar. Yeah, I get them mixed up constantly. :wink:

One of them is a bit more country than the other. I don’t feel like listening to a dozen songs to figure it out.

***Kelly isn’t slim anymore. That makes it a little easier, for me, to physically remember which is which when I see them on tv.

Btw, I don’t own any albums from either musician. I’m not particularly a fan. I hear one of their songs once in awhile, hey that’s pretty good!, and ask myself is that Kelly or Carrie?

It’s different when I buy someone’s music and follow their career. I keep up with when their albums are coming out and how it’s selling.

Oh good. I thought it was just me. Yes, other than the fact that I know they are both American Idol winners, I couldn’t tell you which one was which unless you gave me two chances.

I wasn’t even aware that Carrie Underwood was an American Idol winner. So no, I’ve never gotten them mixed up. I kind of like/tolerate both of them.

I never watched AI. That’s probably why the singers from that show tend to blur in my mind.

They’re just voices that I hear once in awhile in the car. I enjoy listening to the radio on trips.

If I were going to confuse two AI blondes, it would be Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler as they are musically similar to me. But then again there are the two Kellys-- ripe for confusion. Although, having watched the AI seasons all of these girls were on, Kellie will always stand out to me as one of the stupidest contestants ever, so there’s that.

I saw Pickler on Dancing With the Stars. I probably heard her on the radio years ago.

Clarkson is on The Voice this season. I’ll finally see her enough to make a lasting impression.

If you are not a fan there is no reason for you to know which is which.

If you can’t tell that they are different people when you look at them? No, they are no where close to being alike.

I’m not a particular fan of either of them, but…why do people keep saying that Kelly Clarkson is blonde? She’s brunette, isn’t she? I don’t know much about her, but I thought I knew that!

I think she may be a natural brunette but she keeps it pretty light most of the time, as you can see by her GIS.

I started watching AI in 2009 and just fell in love with it. That was Season 8. I looked up the finalists of prior seasons and that’s when I would have pegged who’s who between Carrie and Kelly. They both have amazing voices. I am more a fan of Kelly’s songs although there are some things I love from Carrie. Her duet with Randy Travis “I Told You So”, and there’s a video of her doing “How Great Thou Art” with Vince Gill that I find very touching. Kelly is mostly on the pop side although she also did a song with Vince Gill that I like very much, called “Don’t Rush”.

I don’t get them mixed up, but I actually watched the season of Idol that Carrie Underwood won. And I think someone (maybe on TWOP*) was calling her “the white Kelly Clarkson” then.
