I did, back in 2009 and really disliked it (seemed like just inane, useless updates). There was also some family drama that really turned me off. I thought about creating a new profile to see the family pics, but none of my friends are on it, so why bother?
Used it for a couple of years, but deleted my account earlier this year, wasn’t really using it except for the chat feature, so I decided it wasn’t worth the time.
I do. I was able to avoid it for a while, but my brother and my daughter finally talked me into signing up so we could keep up with each other easier. I also found a lot of friends and distant family I hadn’t talked to in ages, so it’s not all bad.
My other brother is on there too. I kinda wish he wasn’t sometimes.
Yep. I crosspost between Facebook, twitter, and google+ pretty equally. There’s an SDMB page there. My staunchly anti-FB friend finally joined just so she could see pics. I try to avoid drama and apps though.
I’m under an alias with my nickname in the middle. I did this because FB is really good at resetting people’s privacy settings every time they “make an improvement.” This way, I can have a public page with no worries about weirdos from high school or family finding me, and no worries about checking privacy levels or trying to wade through all the privacy settings. I also have platforms turned off, so no one sees what the hell else I’m doing on the internet.
I enjoy getting updates from friends who have moved away, and updates from some favorite pages with video and articles that are fun or informative. So I don’t see myself getting rid of the account any time soon.

Yes, I had one, but deleted in March 2010 for a number of reasons.
I have one, locked down to “Friends only” as best I can (I realize privacy is not one of Facebook’s priorities) and with applications turned off. I do check permissions regularly to make sure Facebook hasn’t done something stupid again.
I have one, and check it daily. For me, it’s a convenient way to share pictures with the grandmas, keep up with the kids, and catch up with old friends. I don’t post anything that I wouldn’t be comfortable sharing with the whole world, since I do have my kids, in-laws, and such on my friends list.
Had one, dumped it. I got tired of reading things like “Had macaroni for dinner…yum.” Plus people would send me friend requests that I didn’t want to be friends with, then confront me asking why I didn’t accept their request. Also, people I haven’t heard from in decades would friend request me, I’d accept wondering what they were up to…and that would be it, no messages, updates or anything…I would never hear from them again.
So, add all that to the fact I didn’t really like it, I just shut it down a few months ago. I keep a fake one so I can look for deals from local businesses, and I might start over with Google, but on the whole I find it a waste of time (not like coming here ).
I’ve had an account for about 5ish years now. I know the arcane art of blocking and hiding to keep my feed free from clutter and so checking it is not even a neutral experience, it is a pleasure wherein I can see what my friends are doing across the globe, read the articles they find intriguing, watch the videos they find entrancing and keep up with their notes, photo albums and so on. And what little alterations I cannot make in facebook itself to provide me with a pleasant experience, I use betterfacebook to tweak.
