Do you have Memorial Day weekend plans?

She also hosts the “Power Block” on Spike TV on Sunday mornings. She is all fixed up and pretty but you can still tell she’s into cars. You might want check that out, Trunk.

No cable.

(oddly enough, I have HBO, but I don’t get cable. Thus, unless I hit a bar or a friend’s house, I miss all racing on Speed, Spike, TNT and F/X. I haven’t actually even checked the schedule to see where the all-star race is this weekend.)

Packing, packing and more packing. We’re supposed to close on the house in early June, so we need to get ready for the movers.

Lake. Camper. Boat. Beer. Burgers. Waterskis. Campfire.

You know the drill… :stuck_out_tongue:

Every year a bunch of my friends from college get together and play games. Miniatures wargames, strategy games (ex: Settlers of Catan), computer games, etc. Past few years it has been Memorial Day weekend and this year is no exception. We rotate hosting duties and this year it is in Pleasanton, CA (San Fran area). We are gathering one day earlier than usual, because we were going to hike to Half Dome, but no dice on that. We will still gather and game and hopefully hike somewhere. We also will probably see Episode III in a digital theatre.

I’m leaving the 24th to drive to Georgia to meet up with my so and look at a house, and continue dropping resumes all over the place. This should be interesting, this is the first time to meet his family…yikes!

My husband wants us to do Rolling Thunder. I’m kind hoping it’ll rain… Is that cold of me?

Otherwise, no plans. We will avoid the marina and anything water-related on that and the other holiday weekends. Too many stupid people go out on boats on holidays.

I’m going up to RI for my 10th college reunion and to visit my parents.

I am leaving on the 26th for an almost 800 mile drive to Virginia Beach to visit my best friend . I am looking forward to seeing her and hanging out , but a trip of that length , alone , with 5 dogs is … daunting , to say the least …

:smack: What the HELL am I thinking ???

I was given a weekend pass, so I’m going home for three days. I’m excited to see my friends (and the plane ticket was expensive. They soooo owe me).

BBQ and family poker game at my little brother’s on Saturday, Indy and the 600 on Sunday, and depending on the weather, a car show on Monday.

Agreed. But if you get far enough out of town, you can avoid most of the yokels. Sometimes when we aren’t going anywhere for Mem-day, we hang out at a restaurant next to the launch ramp. Trust me, it’s one of the funniest shows in town.

My best childhood friend is coming into town for a professional conference, and I’m hoping to convince her to skip a few sessions (she doesn’t need all the CLE credits, anyway). I see her once a year or so, anyway (she lives near my extended family in FL), but this will be the first time in 15 years that I’ve seen her without her husband and/or kids, and the first time she’s been in Chicago as a legal adult. We plan to get into some trouble. (Not major trouble, just a night out with the girls - blues bar or something.)
