Tomorrow night, my friends’ band is going to be on CNN for the Final Four Pre-Show. They are doing background music for a couple of spots, and have been allotted some live air-time to perform a song. After the year that they have had, this is a wonderful opportunity. Our local ‘alternative paper’ has a great article describing them here. They are then coming back home to play a ‘welcome home’ show on Saturday.
Sunday, I plan on being as lazy as possible and going out on the river to catch some sun. Then, They Might Be Giants will be playing Sunday night at the Music Farm. Woo! (And for once, I got tickets!)
But, I have to admit, the highlight of my weekend will be Monday, when I drive to Atlanta to go see Tenacious D at a sold-out show at the Tabernacle. Granted, as soon as the show is over, I’m driving back to Charleston and then right back to work, but it will all be worth it in the end.
Myself—I plan to do Absolutely Nothing. I was soooo overbusy last weekend, that after doing laundry and grocery shopping, I plan to spend a LOT of time curled up under the quilt, a cat in my lap, sipping a hot cup of tea and reading a good book.
It’s been a busy week. A friend’s baby is ill and in the hospital, and as my friend lives an hour away and has a toddler as well, it’s been very difficult for them. I’ve been spending a lot of my free time at the hospital to help out…and while it’s selfish to say it’s draining on me, I’m going to be selfish and say it’s draining on me.
And I just got a big thing dumped on me at work.
But this weekend we are going to my in-laws’ on Saturday & Sunday, and on Monday MY parents are coming for a 3-4 day visit. Yippee!! It’ll be a good distraction for Cranky Jr.
Tomorrow night, all my “woo-hoo fabulous” gay friends are sashay-ing over to the Georgia Dome to watch me perform in the NCAA Gay Dance Party Finals. Last year, my fierce tea-dance team placed second! Hopefully, all those hours of practicing our big gay dance steps to Darrin’s Dance Grooves will pay off! Our matching mesh unitards from the International Male catalogue are sure to be a hit with the panel of judges (unless they’re nasty old trollfaces!).
Then on Saturday, I’m gonna hoover up all the coke I can get my limp wrists on, smoke a rock of crystal meth (Tina, darling) and give myself a GHB enema while twirling flags and glowsticks on the dancefloor at the big gay disco.
And for an encore, I’m gonna hold a “Who-can-cut-the-biggest-wet-lubefart” contest on the patio at the big gay restaurant with my friends. I’ll be the one w/ bleached hair, leatherface, Versace sunglasses, D&G muscleshirt, A&F jeanshorts and Prada mules parading my latest victim/newest boyfriend from the drug-induced night before.
You know, that might be an idea! Just tell Esprix that there’s someone you’d like him to be introduced to… I do remember seeing his thread about a lack of social life, so that might actually be helpful!
(Um, y’all aren’t actually taking him seriously, are you? DNFTT, methinks. )
Tonight I’ve got a date with a hunky surfer boy. I have tomorrow off for Cesar Chavez day, and I may head up to Disneyland (I’ve been jonesing for another trip to the park the last couple of weeks). Saturday night is, of course, SAN DIEGDOPEFEST AT FARRELL’S ICE CREAM! Woo hoo! Sunday I plan on recovering.
Thanks for the greets, Dropzone – I’m here for five minutes and already you’re playing matchmaker!
Kudos for guessing that I’m not as cartoonish as my first post implies. You may tell Esprix that I’m a total gaywad and a full-on retardo, but that I prefer cheap beer to poppers.
PS – Extra ssspecial thanks for introducing “gayitude” into my vocabulary.
And by the way, does this unitard make me look fat?
Well, it being Easter weekend and all, my time is pretty full for this practicing Catholic.
Today and tomorrow I took half days of vacation. Tonight is a big Mass followed by adoration. Tomorrow there’s the Passion reading at 3PM…that takes a while. Tomorrow evening I’m going to hang out at home. Saturday night me and the new boy (? not really a boyfriend yet, but we’re friends, and we’re hanging out a good bit lately) are going to the Easter Vigil. He’s going to crash on my sofa afterward, and we’re going out to the sunrise service at Stone Mountain Sunday morning, followed by a fantabuluous breakfast somewhere.
After that, I full expect to dash around Sunday afternoon trying to do laundry and the like, because I won’t have gotten any of it done earlier in the week.
Yeah, it IS pretty troll-y, in hindsight. Since sKerri practically begged me to post here, I didn’t think anyone else would read it.
I’m heartily sorry about any harm/offense my shrill and shrieky first post may have caused to any bona-fide trolls, cokeheads or fashionistas. And, most of all, for hi-jacking sKerri’s thread!
Jesus, I’m the only straight guy in this thread. Better not drop the soap!
Now that we know you, you can be as shrieky as you want to be. It’s the internet and we can all redefine ourselves. I’ve redefined myself as “friendly and outgoing,” which I’m not IRL.
As for my weekend, I’m having a hole hacked in my shoulder Friday - having a “dysplastic nevus” removed - so I took a day of sick leave. Saturday, hubby and I may go to the zoo since we haven’t been in a while. Daughter gets back from Orlando Sat night. We may or may not go to the in-laws’ on Sunday.
Ah yes, back to the original point of this thread: the weekend! So what am I doing for the weekend, you ask? Hmm… good question! I’ll probably be going to the Good Friday service at my church, then on Saturday hopefully relax (which will be very ahrd to do if I’m at the parental abode)… Sunday, I’m going to church, of course… then after that, I’ll sit through a LONG baptism service for nine of our friends! (plus a few people that I don’t know) After all that, I’ll be very happy to go home!
Well, my mother just called to inform me that we are all invited for Easter dinner at someone else’s house, so if I go, at least I don’t have to do any dishes… let’s hope! Then again, I don’t know if I will go, since my friend called me also, and suggested that we could celebrate together. I guess I’ll figure it out!
