Do you have nicknames for your pet(s)? (Of course you do.) 3rd edition

Mackie, F, Scottish Terrier

Mickie-Macks
Mackiemore (her favorite rapper)
iMack
Mackie-Sack (a game we play where I “kick” at her and she attacks my feet. Play this only with shoes you don’t mind getting a bite mark or three on)
Mackiedochees (her favorite city in Texas)
Mackdawg
Whacky-Macks
Blackie-Mackie
Baby-wabes, Silly-dilly, etc (when I get going with this kind of talk, even the dog is embarrassed for me)
Cutie-Pie

A lot.

Epilogue (top 3 shots): Most often Epi, but also Eps, Eppo, Poopy, Choo-choo. Once time, Face-head. That was weird.

Zephyr (lower 4 shots on above link): Most often Zef, but also Zeffy, Zef-eff, Zeff-o, Moo-moo.

Since there’s been a request, here are some photos of my little Calico Monster: one recent, one “baby” picture from the day after I brought her home, and one in between when she was about 3 months old.

The dogs, collectively: Buttheads, Shitheads, Fuzzbutts

Freya: Buffalo Butt, Ort Snort
Loki: Whine Boy, Mr. Macho

Booger the Cat: The Old Bastard

Cody, male, dog: Codyman, Codric, Codric von Codriksen, Codor

Lucy, Dog, f

“Best Girl,” (we took a vote. She was voted Best Girl in the Whole Wide World) “Silly Best,” “Waggy Best,” “Best Best Girl,” “Waggly Butt”

Female dog, “donkey”. An auto-correct screwed up “doggie”. She’s kind of a weird dog, so it stuck.
Venkman, a black cat, is “monster”. The etymology on that one is lost. But we’re believers in the theory that anyone who thinks their house is haunted actually has cats they don’t know about. That coupled with his tendency to be lurking just out of sight, the nickname fits him even though he’s very well-tempered.
And our female cat is “Merr” because of a noise she makes.

Midnight, Felis Catus, Male, about 8 years old. A few nicknames…Mr Kitty, bastard (when he ticks me off), M. Night Sha-meow-lan, precious boy, and I’m sure there’s others.

What GORGEOUS doggies!!

Beautiful dogs!

ETA: do they bark much?

Penny: Dog, breed mix unknown. She’s mostly white, so she’s our Sugar Muffin. We also call her Penlet, puppy girl, sweetest dog who ever dogged… She really loves men, so she’s known as the man-ho, strumpet, and love slut.

Cody: dog, Puggle. He’s got the blond beagle markings, so on the rare occasions when he’s sweet, he’s the Honey Muffin. Also Codimus Maximus, since he doesn’t know how small he is. Eric Cartman, Prince Joffrey, Dudley Dursley, Mam’s Boy… We finally have a dog in the house who likes me best and he’s the bad seed.

Sebastian the fat grey tabby is just “Fat Cat.” We never use his name anymore.

Emma the pit/something else mix is “Emmers Wemmers,” said in the talking-to-the-dog voice because she’s suuuch a schweetie.

Oh yes, there are nicknames!

I have three in the current batch of rats. All of them are red-eyed whites – albinos, basically. Technically, their names are Bianca, Yuki, and Edelweiß, they’re mostly called Binky, Yuki, and Eddie. Eddie is additionally known as the Desper-Rat. She’s the most sociable, and if anyone walks by the cage she’ll scramble up to the front right corner and wave her little paws out as far as she can, begging for attention. All of them get addressed with things like ‘princess’ and ‘squishy boo-boo’, and the ever popular ‘go eat the one I gave you first’.

Previous sets have included Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, also known as Adventure Rat (had no off button), Biteyface (nibbled everything to test for edibility), and the Corpulent Ratball (self-explanatory). I had a batch of four who were named Kirk, Spock, Bones, and Chekov, but were briely addressed as “Iron Rat”, “Thor, Rat of Thunder”, “Rat-Hulk”, and “Captain Rat-merica” after I dressed them as Avengers for a costume party my housemate threw.

The first pair I had were Miles and Phoenix, the latter also known as Nick, but that’s the nickname of the character he was named for.

We have five cats ranging in ages from one to six years ( yes, I am a very soft touch for strays ) and all are quite sweet and very affectionate. One of the males, Loki, who is around 4 years old is an exceptional hunter of roaches, cat toys, and small balls of paper. Indolent male that he is, the hunt commences at 2am when he sets out to search for any and all threats to the household. Upon dispatching one of these threats, he celebrates the hunt with several long drawn out roar’s then brings the kill to the bedroom for inspection. Needless to say, this is not well received by Mrs. DrumBum and I am ordered to dispose of the kills.

For this, Mrs. DrumBum has given him the occasional nickname “PITA” which as everyone knows stands for “Pain In The Ass”.

Of course, there’s always the classic (which most of us use, but haven’t responded with (except variants of)) “girl” and “boy”.

Dog (pug), male. Color: black (well, the fur. His skin is light-colored). Name: Ty (in full: Black Ty Affair O’Brendy). Nicknames: Little Boo-Boo. Little Poo. Little Poop. Little Wiener. Loves to “scootch.” Is very cute but is also a very manipulative and demanding little pug.

Dog (pug), male. Color: fawn. Name: Felix. Nicknames: Buddy. Dude. GREAT dog. Very loyal and dignified. Is a little like J.J. Walker from the 1970s sitcom “Good Times”: barks a lot but is an absolute puss when he senses there is any strife or push-back.

Jink (16yo female cat, grey/white bicolor, overweight despite our best efforts, with very soft fur): The Fuzzy Cat, The Fuzzbutt, The Fuzz, Fuzzy Cat Baby, The Cat Slug, Jinker Binker Pie.

Boston Terrier, F: Full name Ruby Brindle. Nicknames: Roo, Roobs (which my two year old son uses most often), Roobinesence (only occasionally, when I’m feeling flighty), and Bubbas

Shih Tzu mix, F: Full name Stella Bella Boo (because it’s fun to say). Nicknames: Bellsie or Bellz
