Do you like any foods that disgust others?

Blood sausage and blood pudding. The start of a good breakfast.

After reading the items of food on this thread, I’m rather hungry.
I’ll eat anything pickled.

Peanut butter and bacon…wonderful

When I was a kid, I used to mix peanut butter and vanilla ice cream together.

Right now I’m craving a RUBEN sandwich.

My kingdom for a ruben!!!

peanut butter and american cheese is the best kind of sandwich to have.
And nothing beats dipping fries in tartar sauce.

Growing up a poor southern cajun person I can truely say there is nothing I won’t eat. I am a human garbage disposal.

how about…

chicken feet

…I just looove the sweet/salty combination of fries and milkshakes. The ones at Wendy’s do the best job, because the fries are sturdy enough to spoon out the rather dense Frosty mixture. Next fry-shake experiment: Blizzards! That is, once I figure out which flavor will work best.

Yum, yum!

Dunno why it grosses some people out, but the ones who wrinkle their noses at me are most likely the ones who’ve never tried it. Their loss!

This is so true…

I grew up in Louisiana–we ate things lots of folks would be afraid to step on. You have to go to one of those miserable fake “Cajun” restaurants here in Texas to eat boiled crawfish without getting disgusted/horrified looks from people. It’s just not worth it, since you can’t get good ones here anyway.

Crottled greeps, anyone?

Not me, but my sister-in-law has a thing
about corn. She makes vanilla ice cream
and puts creamed corn in it.

Chocolate chip cookies and pickles. Chips Ahoy are best, paired with bread-and-butter pickles.

JosephFinn - we should have breakfast sometime!

Balance - what the heck are crottled greeps?

No, no! You need to dip them in mayo or gyro sauce!
Mustard is a so-so substitute. I HATE ketchup.

I’ve been known to make cookies but eat half the batter raw, salmonella be damned.

I just ended up disgusting someone today with chocolate syrup on pancakes (hey, I ran out of maple and blueberry).

He was giving me a hard time for 5 minutes before I pointed out to him he had just eaten a chocolate covered donut.

Hmm some of the stuff on here sounds interesting… not much of my stuff is exotic but here is my list

Molasses sandwiches (two slices of bread smothered in molasses… yummy… I haven’t had that in awhile though)
Ranch dressing on mashed potatoes or fries
Pretzels and Ripple potato chips dipped in melted chocolate. (I discovered the pretzels in chocolate before they commercialized it!)
Fried tuna sandwiches
Salmon soup (made with all the bones and stuff in… its all so small though cuz it was put through the blender)
Syrup on bacon

My brother likes…

ketchup on Hobo Potatoes (a mix of potatoes, butter, cream soup, cheese, sourcream and onions… doesn’t need ketchup)
barbeque sauce on his eggs and sausage

Um thats all I can think of for the two of us. Oh and he likes potatoe chips on his sandwiches (like ham and such)

btw whats wrong with cornbread? I love my Aunt’s cornbread its so yummy!

Heh heh, my grandmother used to swat my hand for stealing sushi nori. Once I found the seasoned type, though, I never went back. Sushi nori is quite bland by comparison. But yeah, the big sheets are fun.

Monster104, enilorac is a packet sugar-eater, too.

I love dried cuttlefish (ika), although the smell just about makes my dad roll over and die.

I haven’t seen anybody mention
bagna cauda(BAHN yuh COW duh) yet. It’s an Italian item, from the Piedmont region I believe. It’s a hot oily dip, kept warm, and you dunk crisp chunks of veggies or bread in it. It’s made by warming together olive oil and butter, then minced garlic and anchovies are added. Stirred until the anchovies disintegrate. Yummm!!!

It was mentioned on my favorite TV show, Babylon 5. The security officer Micheal Garibaldi made it for the chief medical officer Dr. Franklin, and when the latter heard the ingredients he said “I can feel my arteries hardening just by being in the same room with it.”

The foods I like that disgust others aren’t that bad, but I thought I’d mention them.

~anchovies
~sardines
~scrambled eggs and ketchup
~guanabana (a fruit from Costa Rica, we ate it all the time when I stayed in a village by the ocean…anyone ever eat it?)

Oh yeah, and when I was eating a hamburger in Costa Rica in the hotel restaurant, a maggot fell onto my hand. But I was too hungry to care so after flicking it off somewhere I finished the hamburger. (Now, everyone yell a collective “EWWW!” but I don’t care because that’s when I learned I was Wonder Welf with the Invincible Tummy, because I didn’t get sick for some odd reason)
