Do you like Spam?

My abject apologies. Be glad it was just the once.

That sounds vaguely dirty.

I like Spam, but I think I prefer PEK

God, yes. Out of the can or fried in a pan, loves me some Spam!

Back in my meat-eating days, I really liked it; especially the turkey version. In fact, my fiance’ and I entered a Spam cook-off at a local bar and came in 3rd with our Wham Bam Thank You Spam Junk E-mail Chili. I think the winner was a Spam jambalaya. The place cleared out for a bit because someone’s blackened spam got a little out of control. I made the cutest little purse out of an empty Spam can. I had a Spam t-shirt for awhile. Ok, now I just sound like a Spam freak.

I had it a few times in summer camp. It’s been 35+ years since then. But right this minute, I’m craving it. Fried please. On toast with sliced tomatoes and whole grain mustard.

Bloody vikings!

I miss Ruby Montana’s Annual Spam Carving Contest.

Those single-serve packets are great for backpacking trips. I have Spam about every third day on multi-day hikes, usually with some kind of Lipton/Knorr noodles or rice dish.

Damn. It’s SPAM in a runaway!

The SPAM museum is a must when in southern Minnesota - it’s a hoot! They certainly didn’t take themselves too seriously when they set it up.

When I went camping with Boy Scouts in the past few years, I’d whip out (wait for it) a can of Spam for breakfast. Almost no one had ever eaten it, but they loved it, especially fried in a Dutch oven over open coals and eaten with an egg scramble - yum!

I have to agree with the Fried Spam camp. Mmmmmm, fried spam…

I’m disappointed there isn’t a strongly enough worded poll option to convey how much I hate spam. It’s less “I do not like spam” than “fuck no!” eww, eww, eww

This. Spam is ok but holy shit is the sodium content off the charts! And I’m not even too concerned with consuming excess salt/sodium. But spam is like the V8 of processed meat-foods. :stuck_out_tongue:

I love spam especially fried.

Also from Hawaii, so I grew up on the stuff. I like it. That said, I eat it only 1-2 times a year. It’s usually in a musubi or fried with eggs, but I’ve also topped ramen/saimin with it. I keep some in the freezer for that purpose.

From my childhood, I recall Spam crunchy egg rolls and possibly a whole Spam loaf studded with cloves and garnished with pineapple, which was pretty weird.

White bread, fried spam, mayo. What’s not to like?

You forgot the American cheese.

I don’t eat it that often, but I’ve come across some pretty damn tasty recipes over the years.

This one (taken from a Spam calendar somebody gave me) has been a hit at every party I’ve made it for (most recently the Super Bowl in February) - even among folks who don’t normally care for Spam:

Of course, Spam musubi, Spam-aroni & cheese, and Spam & eggs are yummy old standards, as well.

It’s even better on a toasted English muffin.
