Do You Like water ice? do you have water ice?

Just around the block from Shea Stadium on 108th street:

Lemon Ice King of Corona

There’s many ice stands in Manhattan too, especially in Greeenwich Village. On Long Island stands pop up at various spots, but their location changes from one summer to the next.

With all the “designer” ices out there, with fruit pieces etc, I still like the plebeian ones you get at the local pizzeria.

** Corbomite’s ** is good, too. Parents grew up in Corona. Been there a few times.

and some places you do have to say water ice, because they also have the cream. I prefer the “Italian” (water) ice.

Bah! I live just outside of Chicago, and we call it Italian ice, thankyouverymuch. Damned good stuff, too.

For those still confused, it’s about halfway in texture between a snow cone and a slurpee, but with fresh fruit juices rather than some awful sickly-sweet syrup. Eat it with a spoon out of a cup; most common flavor you’ll see here is lemon (frozen lemonade slush in summer, mmm…), but other fruit flavors are seen too.

actually i have heard that while the most acessible flavor is lemon i think the most popular flavor is cherry at least thats what they said on tv . the food networjk showed a sement in a show about ritas in philly ( i love a good Ritas water ice)

I figured you were from the Philly area after seeing this too. Over here we call them Italian Ice and they are pretty good. Perhaps I will get one tonight. YUM. I like the tropical punch, grape, and peach ones.

lime or pina colada are the best by far

mmm! I always have Buzzard’s Water Ice in Cape May, NJ…I like the chocolate!

There’s a Rita’s just down the road from me. Yum yum. My favorite is lemon–they put little bits of lemon zest in there. Heavenly!

WHAT??? A SPOON!? Now I know you definitely have NO CLUE what water ice is!

YOU PEOPLE STILL HAVE NO CLUE! “Italian ice” that you eat with a spoon is NOT water ice.

-NOT!!!

You put a spoon into water ice and your name winds up on a local mob hit-list out here. I can have my legs broken for even including the words spoon and xxxer ice in the same sentence!

I travel alot for work and see the italian ices you clueless water-ice-less people are forced to consume, and so far I can determine that only me and Pink Lemonade have any clue what water ice is!

And, you absolutely are required by local ordinance to buy a salty soft pretzel and cover it with mustard when purchasing a water ice. Should no pretzels be available, you are still required to ask for one, even though all ten people in front of you in line were told the same thing.

Caveman! That is water ice down the shore in Cape May. Genuine water ice. Finally!

Cape May…one of my stomping grounds. Just did some fishing off the coast. 'course, they were all too small, so we didn’t have the flounder dinner we wanted, by we hit some local Wildwood Crest spot for water ice.

Water Ices are served in small pleated paper cups and are consumed by squeezing from the bottom. It gets sticky and mushy yet it’s all good.

 Pretzels huh? Good job those local ordinances don’t apply to NYC.

Do you like punctuation i like punctuation and good spelling and also commas and periods and complete sentences its like bad grammar but not really i guess you have to come to chicago to know what its really like here in the real world you dont get off the hook just by saying you have bad grammar your expected to correct that as it is a flaw

enjoy your water ice

i like sno cones too.

::tears:: i didnt know i would get mocked for my bad typing:sniff:
well anyway i think philster really understands the rules of water ice

When you don’t know how to type correctly, it is bad typing.
When you don’t bother to type correctly, and thus hinder communication, it is inconsiderate, imho.
