Do you pee in the shower?

What did that particular quote have to do with peeing in the shower?

I don’t even think about it, and assumed everyone did it.

Seems perfectly natural to me.

Female. I pee in the shower, not really as a habit or anything, but the truth is once you crank on the water sometimes you really have to go. It’s way better IMO than leaving the toilet seat all slippery when you’re soaking wet.

The first time we had a conversation about this, my husband looked at me like I had two heads. He is firmly in the ‘‘against’’ camp.

I usually pee before I shower, but I never thought about saving time. It’s just that part of my natural routine is to use the john as soon as I wake up. Then I walk around, bullshit, or whatever, and if I have to be somewhere soon, shower. If the urge strikes me while I’m in there, I don’t wait. I’m not going to finish showering, then towel off to make sure my toilet seat doesn’t get wet, then pee. It always feels a little gross when the pee trickles down my legs, though. Unlike men, I don’t have anything to aim into the drain with.

I ain’t a-showerin’ with none of ye.

I have very strong feelings about where it is Proper To Urinate. On hiking trips, when there’s no toilets around, it takes some time for me to convince my bladder that this is an okay place. I wouldn’t feel comfortable going in the shower, not because I think urine is dirty but because the idea is gross.

What a lot of us shower pee-ers are not getting is WHY do you think it’s gross? Is there a reason or is it just an irrational feeling? I’m sort of thinking that some people suspect the waste water is somehow recycled back up to the shower head and they might be getting sprayed with their own pee. That’s all I can come up with.

First off, let me say, I’m not a shower peer. I know, it’s safe and what not, I just find it gross. What I’ve never understood is why so many people go to the “same drain” defense. What difference does that make? I don’t think non-shower-peers are at all concerned about where the pee winds up after it goes down the drain.

I remember reading a comic or a joke or something along the lines of "Yesterday while he was at the party, Harry learned there is a small but important difference between peeing in the pool and peeing into the pool.

I don’t think there is pee spraying on me, other than the pee I’m spraying on my own self while peeing.

I could see it as being a little more oogey for females since you have less control of where it’s going and you could piss on yourself. Even then, it gets washed off, but I can see why that’s distasteful. But I can aim and pretty much hit the drain directly. I don’t go into the shower with plans to piss generally, but if the running water sound makes me want to go while I’m in there… not much reason to hold it in until the end, or step dripping wet out of the shower for a moment to do it.

I have peed in the shower a couple of times, but I generally don’t, because my tub drains very slowly and I really don’t want to be standing in an inch of peed-in water, regardless of the fact that the pee-to-shower water ratio is going to be quite small.

I pee in the shower but never in the sink, the sink’s usually full of dirty dishes that I’m to lazy to wash.

A real gentleman always removes the dishes before peeing in the sink.

That’s the point. There is no difference. It’s the same drain. No defense is needed.

I think the “it’s gross” position is the one that needs to be defended. Peeing in the shower is arguably cleaner than into a toilet bowl. No splatter on the toilet rim and you can dribble to your bladder’s content. No worrying about squeezing out the last few drops for fear that they’ll end up in your pants leg.

I can understand the psychological issue that women might have with peeing on themselves, even though I don’t have a problem with it as long as I’m already taking a shower.

[Joey]If I had to, I’d pee on any one of you![/Joey]

I am not too lazy to step out and use the toilet.

Okay, okay, it may not be rational to think it’s gross to pee in the shower. I still refuse to pee in the bubble bath.

Can we at least all agree that the Hogg quote was gratuitous?

peeing in the shower has got to be the easiest and best way to pee. It just feels good. The only kind of peeing that can rival shower piss is an outside piss. I recommend doing this while camping and not in the middle of downtown.

Woman here, and it’s all I can do in the morning to stumble out of bed and get my clothes off before hitting the shower. I have a square shower stall with a big drain in the middle of the base so it’s not a big deal to aim in its general direction.

I do refrain from peeing in others’ showers.

Now I have to pee.

What the Hell? 77% of members here urinate in their showers? I never thought really that anyone did that; I’ve thought that ist was a physically possible action but disgusting and unhygenic. Is this just a trend among young folks or do most people do this?
