At home is one thing but in a hotel you never know if the maid will let herself in while you’re too groggy to respond to her knock or if there will be a fire or if you just don’t want to be vulnerable while surrounded by strangers. So do you go full Monty or pull on some pj’s?
(After 4 years of living in a dorm with 7 a.m fire drills, I’ve been conditioned to wearing shorts and tees when sleeping in “public.”)
I sleep naked in hotel rooms. I deadbolt the door and put a “do not disturb” out anyway. In any event, at my age being seen naked by strangers is not something I lose sleep over.
We did have a bomb threat in a DC hotel once, I took the extra time to get dressed and even put on my shoes. Good thing too, since we were on the street for about 4 hours.
This. The housekeeper will have to be unable to read the DND sign, and she will need a battering ram to get in past the chain.
It takes about five extra seconds to put on pants in the event of a fire alarm; this is unlikely to affect your prospects for escape if the fire is real.
I sleep naked as long as I’m not sharing the room with friends. Just the SO and me or just me? Naked.
It feels stupid to put out the “do not disturb” hangar when we go to bed, but we should start doing so. Invariably maids ALWAYS show up at some ungodly hour in the morning, if they do show up at all.
Yes, but I always chain and deadbolt. I only put out the Do Not Disturb sign when sleeping late. Since I usually have to get up pretty early, it is not usually an issue.
And I always have at least a robe handy just in case.
Never EVER! What if the sheets hadn’t been washed and the person who stayed there before me slept naked as well and had crabs or something, or it was a guy and he ejaculated all over the sheets?
Yes, I am a germophobe/spermophobe, in case you were wondering.
Let me guess. They were packed in three and four to a bed and there were pillow fights.
As for my sleepwear habits, it depends. If I’m sharing a room with someone I don’t live with, I wear jammies just like I would when couch surfing. If I’m alone or with my husband, I sleep in my undies or nekkid just like I do at home.
I know, and I usually throw the comforter on the floor anyway. I just feel weird about being naked in a strange bed. Considering I don’t even like sleeping naked in my own bed, this is not strange.
I don’t sleep comfortably in clothes, so I’m in the naked camp. I do keep my bathrobe right next to the bed in case there’s any cause to cover up quickly.
