Do you wake up in bits and pieces or all at once?

Oddly enough, of everyone I’ve lived with I can get out of the house the fastest if I need to. I just prefer to lay in bed as long as possible. But I don’t have a long bathroom routine, I often skip peeing, I don’t drink tea or coffee, and my breakfast is fairly fast.

I can be out in fifteen minutes. My stomach and bladder may not have woken up, but I can be gone.

Yep, me too. I tend to be churlish if spoken to within 5 minutes of waking, but I’m fully functional otherwise. I fall asleep this way too. I’m pretty sure I did a thread about whether or not people “fall” asleep once…I’m awake then <snap> I’m not.

Feet first. Apparently they’re really fidget-y. My brain doesn’t wake up until a half an hour or so after I become reasonably “conscious”. My stomach is the last thing to wake up. Most of the time I actually feel fairly to severely nauseated in the morning (there are times I can’t even stand up first thing in the AM, I have to sit with my head down until the nausea passes), I am usually not truly hungry until late morning (10 or 11). I’m fairly certain this is just normal for my body and doesn’t signal any serious illness, it’s been this way since I can remember (grade school). Too bad my stomach wouldn’t reverse itself. That is, be hungry in the morning and start feeling nauseated in the afternoon and evening… sigh… If that were true I could be a size 8 again!

If I wake up around two hours after falling asleep, there’s a good chance I won’t be able to process the time on the clock. I’ve read numbers wrong, subtracted time arbitrarily to compensate for a nonexistent time difference (London is 5 hours ahead, so I subtract 5 hours off the clock to get the real time ), and thought it was 12 hours later than it was. I usually realize that I shouldn’t have gotten up when I notice that the angle of the sun coming in the windows is really weird.

It takes me an hour or so to be “fully” awake. Until then I feel kind of miserable. But I think some of that is because I take medication for insomnia and this is a lingering affect.

Bladder wakes me up…I am usually half awake at 5.30 am, go back to sleep, check the clock at 6.45, and wake up completely at 7 am. Haven’t used an alarm clock in 2 years…go by the clock on the cable box. If we lose power, I am toast!
