Jack quickly got bored of sitting on his own hand till it went numb.
What I’d like to know is what adventure did Jack get whisked away for at the end of Torchwood season one? Did we ever see it, or is it yet to come during the current season of Doctor Who?

Oh, thaats what that was about. Have to re-watch now. I was thinking the Doctor actually came back to get Captain Jack.
With Jack, the only limitation is your own dirty mind. 
Nope, he just swings by certain areas (of which Cardiff is one) to recharge the TARDIS on a rift. So, Jack staked out the rift waiting for the hand to start boiling.
