Well, there’s a few false starts but you get there in the end. Love the dynamic between David Bradley’s One and Capaldi’s Twelve, and Mark Gatiss being crushed to accidentally learn his Great War isn’t the last is heartbreaking.
I am younger!
Yep, yep, yep. Good trailer, looking forward to it.
“Have I been burgled?”
“Always remember where you parked it. It’s going to come up a lot”
Most of the other Doctors have been slightly in awe of One when he came back {at least in The Five Doctors, anyway}, but I like how Capaldi just starts off being rude.
Love David Bradley. He was fantastic in the movie they made about the making of the original Doctor Who.
I still think the actor playing One looks very little like William Hartnell, but the costuming does all right.
The characterization bothers me. One is really crabby in this.
Having seen some of Hartnell’s run One was frequently crabby!
(Actually, they all tend towards crab to one degree or another)
The First Doctor was crabby in everything. That was his dominant personality trait.
I haven’t watched all of old Who, but are there really any stories where one isn’t really crabby? That’s an accurate description of him in every story I’ve seen of his, including both of the specials (Three Doctors and Five Doctors).
About the only story I remember where One wasn’t crabby was “The Romans.” He even has an honest-to-Ghod fight scene with a would-be assassin (although this being Doctor Who, One trounces the assassin in a “Doctor-ish” way.) But the whole story has a light touch that showcases Hartnell’s gift for comedy.
