Doctor Who Season Finale - 12/22 - Army of Ghosts / Doomsday (Spoilers)

Umm… geez? Overkill?

-FrL-

Definitely overkill, but funny.

Leaving aside the completely inappropriate personal attacks…

Rose was taken between the worlds when the Doctor slipped a dimension-hopping disc on her and triggered it, and then returned on her own immediately before she and the Doctor opened the breach.

Ah, you say, but the Doctor was also covered in void stuff! Yes, because he was taken across by Jake earlier in the episode.

So the problem still remains.

As for a missing scene with Jackie escaping, per the Wikipedia summary:

I don’t think we saw that.

RealityChuck, Cafe Society is meant for discussion of the arts, not personal attacks on other posters. You’ll want to visit the forum rules and read over this post, especially.

Please do not do this again.

Except that Rose saw void stuff on her own hands while wearing the glasses before she was taken across by the disc. When they come back from the commercial break, we are looking from her POV as she is waving her hand in front of her face and we can see the residue.

So traveling through the void in the TARDIS still allowed the residue to adhere to the Doctor and Rose. Why? We don’t know for sure, but I agree with seepage. That would explain why the longer the presence in the void, the more residue build up.

Three things strike me in this:

  1. The singularity through which the universes connect is somehow moving with Earth? Really? If it’s just a hole that the Torchies have been poking at in pace-time, wouldn’t it be fixed in space-time, or at the least, why would it be in some sort of fixed-point relative to Earth?

  2. Why was the TARDIS sucked through, or at least nudged a bit? Where were the sonic boom/hypersonic shock waves from the critters being sucked trans-globally into the Void?

  3. Wouldn’t the Doctor have known, or at least Rose, to have rigged some belts for those things? At least Rose would, since she is by far the more practical of the two.

I’m glad the TARDIS Harpy Bride is gone after the special. So when are we going to see more Time Lords? They’ll likely hold that bit in abeyance, but still, given the relative ability of supposedly “permanently” gone characters to return (Daleks, Mickey,…), I wouldn’t be surprised to see some sort of reversal of the destruction of Galifrey.

I already said I was fine with the seepage fanwank, until it got Made A Big Deal.
