Isn’t tackling how libertarians establish dominance?
It could have been about politics.
There’s reporters on twitter saying that it has to do with yard waste and leaves being blown onto each others’ lawns.
Think Rand Paul is not a good senator, but man, he doesn’t deserve this. I hope they throw the book at the whacko who took to violence over this.
Jeez, Rand Paul. You’re a United States senator. Hire a damn lawn guy.
I like the fact that the mostly-libertarian guy is being self-reliant.
I bet he cleans his own bathroom, too (and folds the toilet paper into a perfect little point when he’s done).
I like that the anesthesiologist - who is purportedly not working due to a neck injury - was feeling good enough to launch a flying tackle at Paul!
Come to think of it, wouldn’t physical violence and intimidation be a libertarian’s preferred method for handling disputes, rather than relying on instruments of the state?
Only in ***SOMALIA!!! ***
Someone needs to get off someone else’s lawn.
In a true Libertarian society, everyone will be busily pursuing their own rational self-interest, and there won’t be any conflict, ever. Even the sociopaths among us will be transformed into virtuous citizens amenable to negotiation.
It’ll be like a Utopia, where I pay people like you to rake my leaves, and you’ll be happy to do it for pennies.
Why don’t you want to live in a Utopia?
There’s no Utopia without U!
There’s also no Utopia with “top”! And, unlike “team”, there is an “I” in Utopia.
Utopia: you top I, ayyy!
without.
Wasn’t this an episode of King of the Hill?
Dear Penthouse letters,
I went to talk to my neighbor about her feline pooping in my flowers and we ended up eating pussy.
According to the Votemaster, the neighbor was incensed because Paul was violating an antinoise ordinance by mowing his lawn at 7AM on a Sunday. Paul denies that anyone should be able to regulate his behavior on his own property in any way. This was apparently the culmination of a long-standing dispute. Interesting that Paul is willing to invoke the law when he is the injured party. He should have hired his own bodyguard.
I don’t see invoking the law as anti-libertarian - he’s paying for it via taxes, so he has contractual access to the service. And defending contracts is apparently one of the only things a true libertarian thinks the government should be doing.
Wow!That escalated!
Turns out it was a long running feud about yard waste, so yup, lawn it is.
I think he was charged before the exact extent of the Senator’s injuries was known, so it might not stay a fourth degree assault.
I’m not sure you understand how a SPOILER box is supposed to work?
